I bought this for me teenage daughter who began to show interest in pottery. The idea of this "mini" pottery wheel is nice, but it is not very easy to use. The wheel does not have enough power to spin fast enough to mold anything and we were better off molding the clay into the pieces we wanted with our hands.

I was excited about this for my daughter who is 9 and enjoys making things with clay. We should give it another chance, but the first attempt failed. The clay was super dry and crumbly. Adding water didn't help. I knew it wasn't like modeling clay, but it's next to impossible to work with. We tried leaving them out to dry and they just crumbled when they were dry. Didn't make it to the painting part. The little bowl form, just basically fell apart and the clay stuck to it and crumbled. Extremely disappointed, as Klutz products are usually a lot of fun with detailed instructions. They need to improve this one!

The kit arrived fine except for the clay, which was rock hard and completely dried out. Attempts to directly contact the company were responded to, and they sent a replacement kit of a different kind.

I forgot to take pics but a high school aged child and a third grader equally enjoyed this craft. They were able to make 6 small items & paint them. Very easy to use, all necessary items came included, nothing extra was needed.

Clay is unusable, it cracks instantly. The bowl mould is paper and disintegrates when you put the clay in it. The glaze is barely half full. And the wheel doesn’t turn very easily.

I bought this for my 7 year old for Christmas and then, a few days later, opened it up and began on miniature ceramics journey. Totally had a lot of fun making our tiny pots, cups, and plates. It was both a fun, creative activity as well as a great way to teach little ones patience (since you'll need to allow the ceramics to dry and the paint to dry). Wonderful bonding experience!

TINY CERAMIC STUDIO is a fun craft and activity kit that teaches different ways to work with air-dry clay to make small ceramics. Once they have been made and dried, the set includes paints and a paintbrush to design them and then a glaze to seal them. The book that comes with it gives step-by-step instructions to help inspire and create small items, such as bowls, vases, plates, and so on. The amount of clay lends itself to creating these miniatures, and provides enough to create quite a few items. What I loved: This is such a fun way to get creative and make something new. The kit really includes everything you would need to create these little miniatures, and children will definitely get into making these. The paint and glaze helps to make them even more fun and professional feeling. Inspiration comes easily from the fun book that gives instructions for making simple shapes and items as well as techniques for different designs (starting with circles or snakes, etc.). The yellow tools and roller add to the cool things children can create with the set. The turntable is just functional enough and adds an element of the professional to this cute, tiny ceramics set.The clay does need a full day to dry, which can be tough for eager children, but this helps to draw out the fun over a couple days. There is also plenty of clay, so it is helpful if children start with a few test items before using up all the clay. We found that some vases were not really sturdy and broke while being painted, so needed to do a thicker clay to hold up during the rest of the process.Final verdict: TINY CERAMIC STUDIO is a delightful craft and activity kit that is sure to keep children busy for hours and create some adorable, little items that they can construct, paint, and glaze. Highly recommend for elementary school aged children who enjoy creating. Please note that I received a review copy. All opinions are my own.
