It didn’t fit my mandolin. However, when I asked for help the company was really helpful. I bought an aftermarket viola chin rest piece which was 40mm instead of the included one which is something like 28mm (for small violins). Once I changed out the piece, it fits well and works great!

I got this to amplify my mandolin and it does not disappoint. I was afraid at first to mount the transmitter to the body of the instrument but gave it a try and was pleased that it held firmly and did not do any harm to the finish. The Piezo pickup was easy to fit to the bridge and connects to the transmitter via a short wire with a 1/8 inch male connector. I like that the transmitter is an active preamp with volume control so there is very little if any unwanted noise from the Piezo pickup. The connection of the transmitter and receiver is strong up to about 30 feet without any interference which is quite adequate for my needs. The sound reproduction is very good and the mandolin sounds beautiful when using an acoustic amplifier or even when connected directly to a PA system mixer.

I regularly am asked to play mandolin in a church worship band playing contemporary Christian music. The group varies, sometimes just acoustic, sometimes full band. I’ve always struggled getting my mandolin through the mix using various microphones, stuck to mandolin or externally miked. This is the first pickup that provides great tone that finds its space in any mix. Miked setups do sound very natural and work well in limited environments, but on a live stage this KNA pickup is now my go to set up. Playing through a digital modeling amp with just subtle effects added provides a great full tone which most importantly is reliable and repeatable.
