personally this "knot comb" did not work for my dogs knotted hair areas. It doesn't cut the hair easily. I feel like I would have to pull my dogs hair pretty hard for it to be able to do any sort of trim and I'm definitely not going to do that. I will not be using for my dog, but I will stick with using them for what they really are for...opening envelope lol

We have a large household of foster and resident cats and grooming is very important. We do have a semi feral girl who is not big on being touched or bothered. We noticed a huge mat on her back, for whatever reason, and we were stressed at how to get it off of her. My husband decided to order these. It is sharp and we were able to distract her and lop it off with everyone keeping their fingers and no one was scratched. We don't want to be without these anymore.

I am a longtime dog trainer and behaviorist and I love to check out doggie items so I can let my clients know about them. So since our female collie seems to get matts galore, I ordered this product. Yes, they did help indeed! I could slide the pointy end into the mat and carefully and gently separate the hair and I like it so much better than a metal mat splitter that can slice your finger if you're not careful! I recommend this product for the safety for both you and your beloved dog!
