This is a typical case of you get what you pay for. Since this set was cheap, I was not expecting much. Not much is precisely what I got. When I received the set, I immediately opened it up and examined each piece. Made of cheap plastic, there were imperfections that prevented two of the triangles from drawing a accurate straight line. It was as if there was a little too much plastic in one section. It was hard to visually see, but was completely noticeable when rubbing a finger down the edge or trying to draw a line. The simple solution was to just use another edge of the same tool (there are 3 since it's a triangle). The compass is of about the same quality. Unfortunately, since that tool is under more pressure, I am not certain how long it will actually last. But again, this is a cheap set. I was expecting this. The only thing that I would complain about if I could would be the mechanical pencil. I did not know it was possible to make one so cheap. I guarantee you will be surprised once you get yours. However, it's sitting right beside this laptop that I am typing from right now, which means it didn't get immediately thrown away. I do find the lead unexpectedly breaking more often than any other pencil. I do not know if that is because of the quality of the pencil, quality of the lead, or the ability of the user. All in all, I needed this for a quick project. I didn't have access to my usual set of tools, so I bought this - the cheapest set that could arrive ASAP. It served its purpose, and anything that I use them for now is an added bonus.I could easily see this being an alright set (minus the pencil) for students in an algebra or geometry class. It's not the best, but kids do find a way of breaking/losing the best anyway. I know; I've done it.
