Mine failed after only 3 months. Looking for replacement and everything is 10+ shipping days to arrive. Water is spewing all over the place. Removed the entire shower head and showering with a straight water drop until it arrives. I've had nothing but bad luck with this Kholer brand. They look pretty but insides are cheap plastic and quality is lackluster.

Plug and play. Great to have the out door shower back on line. The Kohler customer service rep I spoke with was great to help me identify the right part.

I needed to replace the vacuum breaker in our Kohler hand-shower which was leaking like crazy. I found out that this item replaced the original one which had been discontinued. Fortunately it was 1/2 the price of the original!! It was very easy to replace and worked perfectly from the start.

The Polished Brass version of this was installed by the builder in 2002 in our walk-in shower on the hand-shower handle hose and worked without incident until recently when it shut the water off to the shower head while in the middle of a shower. Off, I mean dead off, not a dribble. Really fun when you are covered in soap and shampoo@! Once recovered from that, during the unscrewing of this from the wall mounted water outlet, the inside nylon piece unscrewed itself and revealed the rubber valve/gasket/flapper - whatever it is called - inside that was distorted and had a small tear in it and the nylon plunger spring seemed weak, probably from 15 years of use. So, figured, just needs a new $0.20 piece of rubber, a 'ball-point pen-like' spring, and maybe a couple small pieces of nylon. Well, so far, can't find where repair parts are available or even listed on the manufacturer's literature. If anyone knows. please post here. Calling Kohler tomorrow.....OK - Just talked to Kohler and was told that there are no repair parts available for the K-9660-CP, PB, or any other finish of the K-9660 vacuum breaker.

It's hard to knock a product that works, but I'm going to try.I screwed this here $30+ dollar vacuum breaker onto Kohler's very nice, very brass, very heavy K-976 wall-mount elbow. Kohler's elbow features a chrome plated brass nipple that fits right in with the appearance and build quality of the elbow. I swear, together, this elbow & nipple from Kohler could probably be rigged to lift the front end of my car.And on that nipple attaches this vacuum breaker, which (they don't show it in the pictures here) tails off with a cheapie white-plastic-wrapped-in-a-chrome-jacket threaded section. (Update 9/18: Refer to the picture I included -- I'm holding the Kohler, next to a Hansgrohe vacuum breaker that I am using now.) That in itself wouldn't be so bad, except that after connecting the hose to the white plastic, there's 1/4" to 3/8" of exposed white plastic calling attention to itself, making this all look somewhat hacked together. At least it doesn't drip.So again, not to say it doesn't work -- it does -- but at this price, it doesn't match the materials and quality expectations of the Kohler part it's being fitted to.Frankly, I spent a few extra bucks on it because of the brand reputation, and feel like I got gypped for making that assumption -- I would have spent a little more time shopping and picked a different brand. Similarly, I'm not opposed to plastic innards if they work -- and they do -- but Kohler ought not charge a brass price for it!Update in September 2018: In July or August, after a bit more than 4 years in service, this breaker failed hard and fast. After a second or so of flow, the breaker cut off water supply to a just-usable dribble. Unfortunately, in doing so, it produced a "thunk" in the diverter handle. Naturally, I suspected the diverter valve was the problem so disassembled it first, before figuring out the real culprit. I've since replaced it with a at about half the cost, and it's all chrome (no white plastic showing), and I've got better pressure than before, so for now I'm back in business and happy.

My plumbing inspector required a vacuum breaker in order to pass the inspection. I bought this item. It worked and passed inspection. That's all I need.
