These pellets appear to be well made and work great in my smoker. I do really like this blend, it gives a great flavor, but they are really expensive. You can find 20 lb bags that are around the same price as this 2 lb bag, and transfer some into a smaller container for easier transportation if that's what you want this for.

Kona pellets burn clean and only impart the flavor of the woods they're made from. My Ninja Woodfire Grill used about 1/3 cup during the smoking process. And these ribs were so good that I doubt will eat ribs at a restaurant ever again. The cost of this brand of pellets is a bit high, but when you take into account that you're burning pure hardwood, not sawdust and chemicals , I'd say they are worth the price.

I've only had my pellet grill about a year and have only tried a few different types of pellets. I've joined a few groups on social media and have learned a lot on which types of woods to use for different meats. So far I've only used single would specific pellets and have never tried any blends. I saw these and thought I would give them a try. I tried them with some boneless country style ribs that were on sale the week I got these pellets. I have to say they were the best tasting batch I had ever made! I have no idea what is in this blend but I was more than happy with it. The only downside is that it is quite pricey and only available in 2 lb bags.

Kona brand has great smoke flavors. However as Ninja Woodfire grill owner, there is misleading information. The pellet hopper needs to be filled up in order for the smoker to ignite & work. So 1/2 or 1/3 fill up for 80 times use is wrong information. And I've measured a full cup of pellet, and it came out 0.114 lbs, so for 2 lbs of bag, I can use about 17.5 times which is bit pricy in my opinion.

These Kona brand pellets are specifically created for ribs, and I guess I can see why. They do have kind of a smokey/sweet smell, so it makes sense. However, those of us who smoke meats know that while pellets do help you to fine-tune minute details that may or may not be noticed, at the end of the day pellets are pellets, and they will provide smoke to your food just as any others. What I like is that they are 100% hardwoods, so they should burn cleaner and not give you as much dirty smoke as other blends. For that alone, I’d give them 5 stars. At the end of my cook, my ribs were delicious (as always), so using these in my smoke tube was a good idea.

Nice pellet blend for ribs. Can never get enough pellets, as I like to smoke meats and make bbq. Great taste and flavor, I'd but these pellets / brand again for sure!

These pellets worked wonders in our electric smoker. Kona doesn't spell out the woods in this blend, but I'd say there's a bit of hickory in there. It's one of the stronger smoke flavors, perfect for ribs or any hearty meat. It can even go well with wings, if you don't mind the relatively bold taste. These pellets are physically on the slim end of the spectrum, which means that they fed easily through my machine's auger. I've occasionally had jamming issues with thick pellets, but that's not a concern when I'm using Kona. All in all, great pellets in a convenient resealable bag. Recommended.

Good smoke flavor. Its not limited to ribs either. I cooked pork steaks for my wife yesterday and used these pellets and got good flavorful result. I just throw a handful in my grill instead of wood chips and it work great.
