Great little peeler. Everything tastes so fresh and looks so appealing in my salads! This gadget is well constructed and quite sharp. A little plastic guard that fits over the blade is included. I highly recommend this product!

I've tried a multiple julienne peelers over the past year. I like longish carrot strips that have a little muscle to them for dishes like cole slaw and others. I like the crunch and burst of flavor that thin peels don't get you. I've tried peelers designed like this. I've tried mandolines. I've been underwhelmed by most. I could write a report on all of the tests I've run. This tool is sharp. The handle is sturdy. The protect cap is exactly that – a cap. You take it off and place it out of the way when you use the tool. Too many other similar tools leave the cap attached to the tool as protection for your fingers, but they rarely offer that protection. They do manage to distract and get in the way. For better protection, pick up a kitchen-grade cut resistant glove. This tool gets right down to cutting long strips of carrots and other veggies. I use a corn cob holder (Oxo-brand) to pin the distal end of the veggie down on the cutting board the use this tool to pull lengthwise along the other end. When using this technique it is useful to leave an inch or so of excess for the veggie on the pinned end.You get nice clean cuts with this peeler. I'm not surprised. I always have good luck with Kuhn Rikon tools. They are well-engineered and well-built. In good product design, it is key to be both. This tool easily makes the grade. My only wish is this: it would be nice to have Kuhn-Rikon make a side-swipe version of this tool as opposed to an inline-pull tool. I've seen other designs like this, but have not tried them. The side swipe method appears to me it might be even easier yet and maybe a little safer.

Looks good and works great. So far everything I’ve purchased from Kuhn Rikon has been a solid investment and shows no signs of wear despite frequent use and dishwashing. Also, fits easier into my utensils drawer as it’s a bit less bulky than many mashers.

100 % original product. Strong stainless steel body, sharp blades and screws. Looks robust enough to last longer than the plastic ones. Time will be the best judge of its durability. As for price, its more than double of its original market price, as the product is being shipped directly from overseas; on account of absence of a local seller who imports goods beforehand on wholesale basis, and then affords to sell such imported products at prices closer to their original market prices.

I considered getting one of those spiral slicers for making "noodles" out of squash. But I didn't want something that took up counter space and it seems they waste a sizable core of the vegetable too. I also have a julienne option on my mandoline, but that doesn't work very well for lengthwise noodles, and it requires a lot of pressure for each pass, which feels dangerous. This tool, on the other hand, is just what I needed. You can lay down the long veggies on the cutting board and use your strong hand to do the peeling. Doesn't require a ton of pressure. It does the job perfectly. It's a high quality tool. Feels heavy in the hand, and washes easily. The little plastic blade cover is nice for storage. In the photos - I had an oversized squash that was hiding in the garden - they're not that tasty at that point, and the seeds are too woodsy too, so perfect for noodles. Next up, I'm going to try using it to make sweet potato frites.

This is a nice potato masher which gets used quite frequently, usually not potatoes- but it works great for that! It has a nice weight to it- not so light you feel like your going to break it, but not so heavy you'd pick another instrument over it, and is well constructed. i.e. no gaping holes for dirty water to reside in until you realize how gross it is. I got so sick of replacing things every year because they had random funk from going through the dishwasher and not drying out well or just plain falling apart. So when Thanksgiving was coming up and I couldn't find my masher, I instantly went here to check for a better replacement. The price was good, the quality in relation to price is excellent. The zig zag bottom means it is not difficult to get clean like the waffle style. I use it quite frequently, mostly for par-mashing cauliflower gratin and to give soups a little "body" without dragging out an immersion blender or transferring to a blender. I've mashed inside my stainless steel pans and enamel baking dishes and not marred either finish. Not much more to say, it works well for it's purpose, is easy to clean, and thus far still looks brand new over a year after purchasing... Highly recommended.

I can't say enough good things about this julienne peeler. I first bought an Oxo julienne peeler, and it was really a piece of junk. I used it twice and saw that it was steadily going downhill from the first use (the little tines started bending right at the first usage when only julienning a carrot!), so I returned it right away. I had remembered seeing this much more expensive Kuhn Rikon julienne peeler with much better reviews and decided to give it a chance. Oh my goodness, the difference is amazing. It performs so much better, and I've now used it several times and the tines have not moved a bit out of position. I love the nice all-over stainless steel design. Very functional, beautiful, and looks like it will be very durable also. WELL WORTH the extra money! Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I also used it on zucchini and didn't have any trouble. I took a little bit lighter approach to the zucchini than I would with a carrot since it is a softer vegetable. The way I avoid hurting my fingers is to lay the vegetable on the cutting board and spear one end with a fork. Hold the vegetable by the fork and then julienne away!
