These black jazz tapes have great tone and don’t produce any left hand noise. I popped one string installing it on my D’Angelico and asked the company if I could buy just one replacement string. They sent one to me for free.

2 strings went bad and started buzzing within 2 weeks. Would appreciate a refund.

This set is to thinfor a jazz box.. the strings are dancing all over the place.I'll have to try the 0.14 and see if it gives better resultsI'm sure since it's a La Bella the manufacturing quality is great but I can't really understand what benefit could this set give

I have an alvares acoustic that has real nice bright sustain. I have tape wound strings on my electric bass and they have a warm mellow tone and are easy on the fingers. So I thought why not on my acoustic. These are almost the same weight as the light dadarrio strings I've been using on the acoustic for years so I didn't see an issue with swapping them out. These strings are very well made. No issue there. Once I had the guitar restrung the action seemed slightly off so I did the usual slight truss rod adjustment to level things out but no matter what the strings would detune when fretted. So when playing a tape wound string adjacent to a steel string they were very noticeabley out of tune.It seemed like though the strings were numbered the same as others the tension weight was not close to that of steel strings and just wouldn't balance out on the guitar I was using. Maybe better suited for a guitar with fine adjustment on single strings. That being said I played around with the guitar for a few days in the best shape I could get it and then restrung it with steel strings. Again very high quality strings just not right for my guitar.

I'm just learning the guitar, and I was concerned about not hurting my fingers. I bought an electric guitar for $70 that came with steel strings. I replaced all of them with nylon and they sounded great. Somebody told me that nylon strings might not be picked up and amplified, but that was false. If they work on an inexpensive guitar, they'll work on any of them.

It is easy to play. You her a nice warm sound. And these are ridiculously easy to bend. They feel like I'm bending 9s.The guy is right these do buzz but that's because there nylon strings and nylon strings are more suspectable to buzzing. You just can't play with a lot of attack and the buzz will not be there.I think it's good value for the money. The Strings are Thick. They suck acousticly but plugged in It has. Rich sound.I think these are one of the best strings I've played I would highly recommend theese. What works for me might not work for you but I like themI hope this review was helpful

Really it's 4 and a half stars.First off, I use these strings on an electric custom made 7 string Baritone guitar tuned from low F# to high B (a fourth lower than standard tuning). I specifically use these to play jazz chord melodys (I have no idea what these would sound like distorted or for rock). The strings give a warm flat tone for all of my chord melodys and great highs for the soloing aspect. Despite the fact that this would be considered an extremely heavy gauge, the combination of my low tuning and the fact that strings 3 through 6 are black nylon tape make for very easy playing with little tension. My main complaint is that the lowest string (seventh .079) is not a black type flat wound but a full round wound. this somewhat kills that jazz tone I go for and I know that the gauge is not impossible to make on black tape nylon. If you need flatwound string for a baritone jazz guitar (I know that's not too often) then these are great strings and you should give them a try. From one to ten I give them an 8.75.

I bought these for an archtop guitar with a floating pickup and they sounded very good; a vintage kind of tone and very responsive BUT I found the bass strings to be very prominent. The set was almost unbalanced for many kinds of playing but almost perfect for fingerstyle chord-melody playing, where a full solid bass is desirable. If that's what you play, then I can't recommend them highly enough. For rhythm playing in a band - you have to be very careful with your tone settings.Subsequent edit, after a longer time with this product: they also go out of tune quite readily. With other strings that I have been using recently, I can come back to my guitar after a while (even a few days) and find it pretty much in tune. That hasn't happened with these, and although I will always tune up before playing (duh!) it doesn't give you that much confidence that they're going to hold their tuning during the heat of a gig.
