Nothing wrong with these things but details are left out. There's a metal ring inside with a 18mm ID so only a straight plug boot or making your own boot terminations will fit thru it. If you handle the shield too much then the color starts to rub off.... In my case I removed the white threaded sewing on the one end so as I could wiggle the metal ring out and then a 90 degree boot could be passed thru. Then I folded the end within itself instead of worrying about sewing the end back up as it stays put.

The Red Sox match the wires, call him cool socks, cause they keep the wires cool next to the headers on my 66C 10 Chevy 350 And they look cool

yes, the color is a bit stained on the hands during the install, but its not fading through time (at least not quickly)i believe it provide some isolation from engine and exhaust heat

Just got around to trying to install these and they are garbage. I was able to get one on the wire and boot but it did not look right, so I tried to remove it and it frayed and pretty much was impossible to get on again. They fray and are difficult to fit over LS1 plug boots. I would love to return them but the window on returns closed.

I installed the heat shields on my bbc 427 the headers I have are close to the spark plugs. I had melted a couple of the plug wires Pryor to installing. They look good on my engine and although I haven’t run it very much yet I feel it’s exactly what I needed

I used a second set of 1800 degree closer to the header pipes because my motor runs hotter on the exhaust than a cast iron stock header. These solve a problem I never knew about because the engine is covered up on a motor home and all I knew was it was misfiring sometimes. Spark plug wires were burned all the way through on 3 cylinders.
