I’ve never really laminated things before, although I have often wanted to. I was happy to give this one a try and laminated a bunch of pictures to use as visual ads for chore charts for my children. I wasn’t sure if I knew what I was doing, but it was very self-explanatory. I just put things inside the sleeve that came with it, held that up to the laminator and it fed the sheets through no problem. I like that they have a release button in case anything does get stuck, however that was not a problem for me as nothing that I did got stuck. I also was happy that it came with a few little extras, like the paper cutter, to help me cut things down and make them fit easier. The only thing I’m not sure about is how the cold lamination is supposed to work. I do wish they would have included some instructions on that, but I am assuming a quick Google search will give me the answers I am looking for.

When my kids were younger, I made ID tags for traveling, and laminated miscellaneous items for school projects. I’ve also laminated tags for various keys, storage bins, and even to identify plants in the garden. All this was done the old fashioned way using good ol’ self laminating sheets from the office supplies store.This laminator handles various sizes of laminating sheets up to 9” wide, and can do cold or hot press. Included accessories are a paper cutter, standard hole punch, corner punch, and supplies included are a few laminating sheets in 3 sizes, and 3 split rings in different sizes.It takes a few minutes for the machine to warm up, the green ready light indicates it’s ready to use. There is an odd odor when the machine is heating, like any other heated element I’ve used. Very quiet operation, barely a noise, and there’s a jam release button on back. The machine is fairly compact, so, would be great for scrapbookers to take along on a group project gathering.There is no clarification in the operation manual about what’s appropriate for hot or cold lamination. The hot setting did laminate the tags and card on the test “pouch,” so, it stands to reason that the hot setting is for paper, docs, and non-heat-sensitive items. The cold setting would be for delicate photos, stickers, and delicate heat-sensitive items on self-adhesive sheets (not included).The only thing lacking: a carrying case or pouch. But, this isn’t a deal breaker.

I got this for work. So far it works well. It's pretty easy. Just plug it in and turn it on. It warms up pretty fast, a few minutes. It lights up so you know it is heated and ready to use. There is a cold mold, I guess for items that are heat sensitive. I have not had the need for that mode, so have not used it. Super easy, just place your paper in between the laminate sheets and run it through the machine, It will feed through. So far the lamination seems good. I was using some peel and stick lamination sheets and those came apart quiet quickly, so this a definite improvement over that. I have requested laminated items from my internal printing services at work and those are thicker and sturdier. But I wanted an easy in expensive and compact laminate to have right in my office. I have not tried other laminator sheets on it yet, just the ones that came with it.It comes with a couple laminating sheets and little trimmer, corner rounder, binder clips, hole punch.
