I have 4 dogs that drink a lot of water! I have been using a large 2 1/2 gal. stainless steel bowl to keep up with the demand but decided to give this a try because of the filter. It hasn't disappointed yet. The large capacity alone makes this desirable as well as being stainless steel. Then the added filter to keep all the debris contained that's left behind is a big plus! And the added fountain really tops it off. I find the fountain very quiet to run and my dogs seem to like it. They took right to it with no adjustment time. I've also noticed with the tray being on top, "limiting the depth of the water", my dogs don't leave near the big sloppy mess on the floor after drinking. Matter of fact, I've only seen a couple small drops of water on the floor and haven't had to wipe the floor up in the last two days since they've been using this. I like that there's a large round window on the front so you can keep track of the water level. Although, it can be hard to see at times if the lighting is dim. I think a brighter light inside would help with this. The pump has a safety feature with a white light that stays on and will turn red when the water is too low and automatically shut off when it's dry and needs to be refilled. It can be a tiny bit of a pain to refill since you have to remove the top trays with the pump attached but not a deal breaker....it's doable. If you have the patience, you can fill it through the top but it will be slow and time consuming. It suggests that you replace the filter every 1-2 weeks? I feel that just depends on your dogs and how much debris and hair they bring to the container? The cord to the pump is roughly 6 ft. long making it easy for me to plug in around the corner where my outlet is, which is about 5 ft away. They do give you an extra rubber plug for the top tray. So far, we are all loving it! No mess for me to clean up and the dogs get fresh clean filtered water. Glad I switched! Win! Win! for all.

Okay, does it hold 3 gals? Yes but where the max fill is, you can go about 4 cups beyond that max and that is just over 2 gals which is still bigger than almost all others. You don’t want too much water sitting in their bowl for too long so the amount it holds is very nice, perfect for my 2 mid size Springers. I like the cartridge filter, easier to replace than other models and not overly complex which then drives up the price. The design is nice on this one, it seems like someone who knew what they were doing put thought into it. It’s easier to clean than the others I’ve had, I like the drain hole / silicon plug in the upper tray you pull it and it will drain into the lower tray causing less spilling when you have to move it to clean it. I love that it has a longer cord, well done. I just got it yesterday, I’m going to let it run for a couple weeks and if it does well I’ll be getting a second for downstairs.

Good fountain, quiet and functions well. Filters are harder to find compared to other models though. If you can't get new filters the fountain is worthless. There are only 1 or 2 sellers offering the filters on Amazon at the time of this review. Wish the black plastic tray was also stainless steel and there was an option to turn the light off.

I bought this water fountain for my two 5-month-old Dutch Shepherds, who drink a lot of water throughout the day—especially after play or walks. This fountain has been great in keeping them hydrated and giving me peace of mind when I’m away or busy.Pros:Large 12L capacity means I don’t have to constantly refill itVisible water window with internal lighting makes it easy to monitor water levelsStainless steel build feels sturdy and hygienic, and parts are dishwasher safeDeep drinking bowl suits larger dogs who gulp water in big slurpsTriple waterfall filtration system ensures clean water and catches hair and debris effectivelyEmergency water reservoir in the upper bowl adds a thoughtful layer of backupQuiet operation with a red-light alert for low water levelsEasy to refill—just pour water directly on topComes with cleaning tools (brush and sponge)Cons:Filter replacement every 1–2 weeks may add to long-term costInitial setup takes a bit of adjusting (e.g., aligning the pump light with the viewing window)May be too large for homes with limited spaceFinal Thoughts:If you have large dogs or multiple pets, this fountain is a great investment. It’s thoughtfully designed, low-maintenance, and keeps water clean and fresh. My dogs love drinking from it, and I appreciate the capacity, visibility, and overall build. It’s not the cheapest option, but the performance and convenience make it worth it.
