The gel is indeed comfy enough, much better than the thin worn-out existing pad on my office chair, although not as good as a quality built-in cushion. It's going to extend the life of this chair, until I get around to springing for a nice new chair with a firm, high-density cushion built-in. So, mission accomplished.Note that the complaints about the cover are totally valid. It is a super-slippery material, and has these little dots on one side that are somebody's fig-leaf attempt to make it less slippery without spending any real money. But for the price... I'll probably wrap it in some other kind of less slippery cloth, a pillow-case, etc.

I got this for my husband who works from home. He was having issues before we got this chair pad with excessive sweating from sitting so long everyday at work, now he is more comfortable and also his butt can breathe, lol.

This is not super comfy but helps a lot for hard surfaces. It is quite big i wanted something small for work on the plane. I wanted small for in my suitcase but takes quite a lot of room. But helps on hard places
