This data logger measures and stores up to 32, 510 voltage readings over a 0-30V D.Sc. measurement range. The user can easily set up the logging rate and start time, and download the stored data by plugging the module straight into a PCs USB port and running the purpose designed software under Windows 2000, XP, Vista & 7. The data can then be graphed, printed and exported to other applications.

I had a need for loggers and wanted to try this one out, disappointed. I like the small portable concept and bought it based on good Amazon reviews as a test, before I bought others.Software downloaded easily, including drivers. Problem, computer won't recognize the USB logger as a USB device. Check Battery, good at 3.6V. Tried downloading software to a second computer, both running Win 10. Same thing, computer won't recognize the USB logger as a USB device. Consequently, the set up program gives a no logger found message.Just doesn't work, wish it did, then I would be using it right now. Instead it's going to UPS for return in the morning.

We are using the EL-USB-3 voltage dataloggers to track voltages at a remote solar/battery power station. The dataloggers are easy to set up and use. The precision is a tenth of a volt at the standard setting, which is fine for our purposes. When you download data the software has a useful plotting screen that allows you to see the data quickly in the field (on your laptop). You can export data to Excel for further evaluation. I highly recommend these dataloggers. I added Anderson Powerpole connectors for easier attachment to the batteries. The wasn't really necessary because the included gator clips work just fine, but I prefer the Anderson connectors.

While I have a Mac, I run Parallels on it as a virtual machine which lets me also run Windows. My Mac is one of the recent models with the highly efficient M1 chip sets in it. Unfortunately, even though Windows works great, this voltage recorder requires a Windows computer based on an x36 or x64 chipset. So, no joy. It's got to go back. I'm really bummed, because I need the functionality that it has but was saddened to find that it won't run on my computer running the Windows OS.UPDATE: I subsequently learned that it WILL work on a Mac running Windows as long as the Mac has the Intel chipset. It currently does NOT work on a Mac with the M1 chipset. Hopefully that will change in the future? Once I got it to work on an old Mac, it was amazingly easy to program and I think it is very well built. We'll see how the battery thing works out, as I've never seen a battery like this device uses.

I am using it to diagnose a repeatedly run down battery in my vehicle. It is fine for this purpose. The accuracy appears to be as claimed.Pluses:1. I like that it is small enough to leave taped to the battery holder with the hood closed. The clip wires are connected to the "cap" that mates with the USB connector. You can remove the cap and leave the wires attached when you remove it to read out the data.2. The included program is simple but adequate. The instant graph display is handy. I am using it on Windows 7.Suggestions for improvements:1. Increase the memory. It seems expensive for the tiny amount of memory included. If it had a micro SD slot you could record every second until the battery ran down and multiple files with no problem. The available 9 hours at 1 second interval or 3 days at 10 second is ridiculously small. If I had just a bit more ambition I'd have set up an Arduino or RasPi to do it for less money.2. Make the battery rechargeable from the USB, but still replaceable. It's an odd battery I don't have laying around.3. Others have suggested being able to access the data without the program as a thumb drive. I agree with that too.It works exactly as described so if you are ok with that then this will do the job for you.I don't regret buying it.

This unit serves the purpose and the options for recording interval and display are flexible. It tends to freeze up if left plugged into the usb port which there is really no need to do anyway. In order to reset the unit it is necessary to remove and replace the battery. It has not frozen up during actual monitoring use.Long term update: This unit has been used on several vehicles to monitor battery voltage and is still working fine. Be aware that when the monitor battery gets weak, operation is erratic so I remove the battery when not in use.

I bought this voltage data logger for general purpose data logging, but especially to check the battery voltage in my car after two instances of dead batteries. Haven't found the problem yet, but the data collection is great. The only negative for me is that the 30 V range range is wider than I needed (15 volts or less) and had a fairly coarse resolution. Still, it was fine for the battery monitoring. It will take samples at up to 1 per second with a duration of about 9 hours to once every 30 minutes for over a year if the battery lasts that long. I haven't tried ti yet, but with the LED indicators turned off, it should be possible. The time tagging of samples is excellent and transfers properly to my version of Excel. (MS Office 2010) Both the viewing software and the software to export data to Excel are easy to use and work well.Because of the limited resolution, a very useful modification to this data logger would be a scaling capability that spreads the samples over a variable range under USB control. Then, higher resolution could be available if you only needed a few volts of range.

Update: lowered rating to two stars - poor quality construction. It fell apart after limited (and not abusive) use.I have used it twice now and it has worked as advertised. The accuracy checked out.The only problem is the 50 mV resolution. I would prefer 10 mV resolution and for this price I think they should be able to do 10 mV. The battery is a 3.6 V lithium in an odd size (sub AA I think). A replacement battery may be hard to find.
