The part is not as pictured. A previous purchase of the exact same P/N worked perfectly but the part received will not work because of a change to the lever arm. I received a refund. Thank you.Larsen Supply Co (LASCO) is not the manufacturer of the part. In the past the part was made for LASCO by Coast Foundry & Manufacturing who also made it for Kohler. Coast Foundry & Manufacturing was the designer and manufacturer of the 1B1X flush system. They closed down and were bought by another company. Larsen Supply Co has P/N 04-7175 in stock at their warehouse but they are all the incorrect part, I know because they sent one to me. At my local plumbing parts store they have two P/N 04-7175 on the shelf, one is made by Coast Foundry & Manufacturing and is the correct part, the other is the non-functional part made by some other company. I warn anyone who will listen which is why I am writing all this. If the part isn't marked on the top with Coast Foundry & Manufacturing it probably won't work. The original parts also had Uniform Plumbing Code and CSA (Canadian Standards Association) marking. If anyone wants to contact me about this subject, e-mail to w.f.pickett@ieee.org

This kit, along with the Lasco 04-7183 Plunger and Gasket kit were just what I needed to fix my old 1985 Kohler low profile toilet without having to pull out and replace the entire ballcock assembly. My old parts had just worn over 30 years of use and I had a continual "running" that could no longer be stopped with adjustments. These kits solved the problem at a very reasonable cost.

Seller - Please update the description and remove, "Rubber washers and gaskets", unless you plan to sell the product with those accessories. After I purchase the washers and gaskets I will attempt to install this part.

Does the job. However, you should not need a replacement top assembly unless the plastic is actually broken. If your toilet is just "running" on, then you need a o-ring gasket and/or plunger and/or a new flapper REPLACEMENT OF THE TOP ASSEMBLY> turn off the water to the toilet> unscrew the ball float, and lift it out> unscrew the three screws around the "corners" of the ballcock top> lift top off, then lift the plunger and (o-ring) gasket out. There is no need to make special notes of the orientation---the parts fit only one way> thoroughly coat the rubber portion of the plunger and (o-ring) gasket with silicon grease**. . Tube Let the grease soak in for 10 minutes or so.> thoroughly clean the grooves into which the plunger and (o-ring) gasket fit---best with a dry cotton cloth. Q-tips can be helpful> Wipe ALL excess silicon grease off the plunger---you do NOT have to wipe extra grease off the (o-ring) gasket> Set the (o-ring) gasket in place in the groove.> Set the plunger in place (narrow end of the plastic part up)> Set the cap in place and tighten the three screws. DO NOT use a power screwdriver, as that may over-tighten. It is important that the screws are evenly tightened and tight enough to prevent leaking around the 0-ring gasket. You want them good and tight, but without breaking the plastic. Arbitrarily numbering the screws 1 to 3: tighten 1, then 2, then 3. Then re-tighten 1, then 2, then 3. Finally recheck the tightness of 1, then 2, then 3.> Re-install the ball float> Turn the water back on. Test> If the water does not stop running at the end of the flush, you may have to adjust the center screw (which actually presses down on the plunger. This screw adjusts the height of water in the bowl. If the height is too high, then the toilet will "run on". If the height is too low, then the toilet doesn't flush properly. So, screw the screw out most of the way, test, screw in one turn, test, and repeat until the toilet flushes properlyMAINTENANCE / REPAIR> Simply cleaning your old plunger and (o-ring) gasket (and the grooves into which the o-ring sets) and lubricating with silicon grease*** is usually enough to stop running-on---you should only have to actually replace these once every 10 years or so.> The same goes for the flapper. Usually, you can simply clean it (and where it seats in the toilet), lubricate with silicon grease***, and it will work without replacement.> Actually, the same goes for leaking faucets---disassemble, clean, coat the o-ring seals with silicon grease***, and reassemble, and they will almost always work fine for another 5 or 10 years.> If you have very hard water, and there is a limestone ("calcium") buildup in the cap, then soak it in vinegar for about 10 minutes. You can apply a vinegar soaked paper towel to components you can't remove. [You should also soak the spray heads of your faucet and shower-head in vinegar regularly to remove deposits].Important> **DO NOT use petroleum grease or "jelly"---it will severely damage the rubber seals> Compare the Amazon photos with the parts of your toilet to be certain that you are ordering the right parts.> "Clean" generally means to rub with a cotton cloth (not just a paper towel) until no more black comes off onto the cloth. You can use a little soap if that helps.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews, or leave a comment to ask a question.

The item fits the kohler toilet as expected, but the description for this $5.99 or so item said that gaskets were included. I asked before buying. The seller really did not know what was inside the box, so I ordered and waited to see. There were no gaskets, just 3 new screws. Fortunately the old ones fit.Hopefully the seller will change the description. There is a $9 similar item, and maybe that one includes gaskets.
