Installed with no issue and it did stop the leak. However after about 2-3 weeks, it began to leak. And it would not stop leaking at all. Even when I turned the knob to the off position as tight as I could it would still leak. Short life.

I bought this cartridge and another brand. They looked identical. This one worked on my American Standard mid-eighties tub faucet. The other did not. Very confusing differences on these things. Stem, seat and so forth. The actual job was very easy. No need to tighten hard, it seals by compressing the rubber part.

This item turned out to be defective - when closing the stem would not seat evenly against the rubber seal. Amazon promptly refunded. Had to purchase the part from a local store.
