I bought one, just to see if I liked the sound. But, after using it for a while, I thought it would be better if I had two, and I was right.

love these shaker bags..a little on the quiet side but if you have a few of them going you’ll find the sound you want!

I spent a fair amount of time getting used to this; it produces some nice effects, but at a relatively low volume that I find impractical for live performance. It's a bit kludgy to get on and off as well, so if you're used to switching out toys multiple times during a song you'll find this somewhat inconvenient - unless you cut off the strap (as I ultimately did).Recommended for low-volume or acoustic gigs only. In a loud band setting it will just get lost.

These shakers are very innovative.Being in a bag you can, with your thumb, change their shape & sound. There are so many differant ways to play these. You would need seperate size shakers to do what this ONE will do.Experiment with the way you hold & shake them. How tight you put the strap even has an effect in sound by changing the tension of the bag.Shake & grab, tap against leg or free hand, use on the back or front of hands.A REMARKABLE shaker!!Inexpensive, very durable looking & best of all FUN!!Joe

deal for combining with bongos, if you keep that characteristic sound of shakers without having to stop playing the instrument. A little awkward at first but everything is a matter of habit. greetings from Venezuela

This product is one of those, "why didn't someone think of this earlier?" It's a simple concept but quite effective. The bag part is meant to be in the palm of your hand while the red strap goes around the back of your hand. This way, you can mute the shaker whenever you want. If you go to LP's website or maybe YouTube, you can find a demonstration video (and sound sample) of this product. The Go Jo Bag is a different kind of shaker, and it might take a bit of getting used to. Manipulating it for a particular rhythm is different than for an egg shaker, for example. The beads in these shakers are rather large, so they give a different kind of sound. Also, the soft bag interacts with the beads differently than a plastic eggshell, and it might be difficult to generate fast and articulated rhythms. However, every shaker has its place in a given style of music, and these little guys have a unique mutability that can open up new possibilities.Just for fun, I tried using the shaker backwards, where the bag was on the back of my hand and the strap in my palm. I did this to mimic the so I could use it while playing hand drums. After a few strokes on my djembe, the large beads were banging into my knuckles, so it wasn't that great of an idea after all. I also tried it on my wrist, but it didn't shake well enough to produce a good sound. It's not designed to be used that way, anyway. One minor setback to this product is the low quality printing of the "LP" logo on the front. After less than a day, it started to flake off. Oh well.Overall, these little bags are great to add to the rest of your percussion toys.
