One thing that I did not realize about this meter that you have to actually charge your capacitor so that they live to do the actual leak down and measurements. So for me that’s something I’m not used to doing and I’ve got to get over that for these larger starter motor caps. Not a big fan of large as I’ve got some that are the size of beer cans and they’re done literally in a six pack for my Studio strobes. Someone have eight packs worth of them so when they ark, they are blowing a hole in your tools.Pretty cool, but also pretty dangerous. You don’t know what you’re doing.I am not an expert and I have a lot to learn about measuring big capacitors as in starter capacitors so all I can say is I think it works well and it’s a great value and I would rather blow this up than my Fluke 172

Great buy. Use 200uF when testing HVAC capacitors. Amazing backlight

This capacitor tester is easy to use and has a 9 volt battery in the box. There are no instructions for usage but check out youtube for detailed instructions. This is the only way to check if a capacitor is within rated specs. A second test is also needed to check if the capacitor will take and hold a charge and then release the charge. Do this test with caution or use an old style analog multimeter to safely perform this test. See youtube again for details.

Unit works well, I like that it has backlit lcd display and uses inexpensive AAA batteries. Also it tests a wide range of capacitance which is very good also.I did find the unit a bit unstable when standing it up on it's fold out stand.Auto-ranging would be nice. but for the price it is a good deal.

Muy preciso en la medición, comparado con otros del mismo tipo, no le pide nada. Estoy muy conforme con un equipo eficiente a tan bajo costo.

This was a very inexpensive capacitor tester and it did exactly what I needed it to do! I tested this on a brand new capacitor and it measured almost exactly what was on the capacitor's label. The unit feels cheaply made. The stand was difficult to pop out with the rubber cover in place. It was also impossible to remove the battery cover because the rubber cover kept the battery cover in place. The cover is very easy to remove. The instructions were what you expect from something cheaply made in a foreign country. Full of odd English phrases, but good enough to get the point across. Nothing quality about the instructions.Overall, this meter is good for what I need and it didn't cost much.

This has got to be one of the worst instruction sheets I have ever triedto follow.According to the instruction sheet, there are two locations for the input jacks:at the top (just below the readout) and at the bottom (where they really are). The instructions also say to zero the unit out, and this only works on the lower pF side (which is very touchy), as when you dial in the uF side, it is always at 000.The instructions say to insert the black sensor into the jack with the "-" signal, and the red, with the "+" THEY DON'T EXIST! After brute force logic kicked in, I ended up assuming that the middle jack was negative, and that the left and right were for uF and pF respectively, even thoughI was able to get good readings on (4) 50uF and 55uF run caps that showed values from 48uF to 52uF by inserting the black and red tester cables into any combination that included the center connector; all three are marked as Cx.While this tester did what I wanted it to do (at least on the uF side), it will take you some fiddling around to get to where you want to go with it, as you might as well just toss the so-called instructions, and just go by your past experience.
