The display arrived well-packaged, damage-free and on time. It was nearly exactly the same as the display I removed from my Early 2019 iMac. Both the power cable and temperature sensor were already installed - all I needed to transfer from the old display to the new was the data cable. I also removed the pink plastic seen in the photo. Image quality and calibration seem to be spot on same as the original. Five stars = Exceeded expectations (didn't have to transfer temp sensor) and I'm fully satisfied. In the photo, the new display is on the left and the original display is on the right.

I had an adhesion oops with my 5K 27" iMac...my own fault after an SSD upgrade. The screen fell off about 6 months after I was in there. I had to buy another computer to harvest the display from so I could work, and I figured that I would buy this screen to replace the one I took, then I would put the second computer back up for sale. The first screen arrived, packaged very well. It mentions to transfer your heat sensor, but it already had one, so I didn't bother. I connected the screen....no backlighting. I tried everything the instructions mentioned....no luck. So I retuned it which was easy, and asked for a replacement. The second one arrived, and same result. After consulting a couple of repair shops, one guy felt it was a communication problem between the display and the Mac. Upon very close inspection with a magnifying glass, the outer two pins of my cable were damaged when the screen fell off. So I ordered a new cable (also from Amazon) and it arrived today. I plugged it in and away it went. This screen looks just as good as the original in my opinion, it functions perfectly. I have a feeling that the first one likely didn't actually have a problem after all....sorry about that. Please note buyers.....if your screen falls off and breaks like mine did (apparently this is common) it may damage the interface cable.....it's very hard to see this damage. I was lucky the connectors didn't get ripped off my logic board....apparently that happens too.I am 100% happy with this display...it is actually an LG display just like the original....might be refurbished I think, but this screen looks just as beautiful as the original.

I won’t bother telling you why, but I found myself in need of two LCD panels for my two 2019 i9 iMacs. Since Apple does not sell its repair parts to third parties, I was very concerned about replacement displays. Can they match “Retina” quality and brightness? There was no way to know except to roll the dice and order one. If the first met expectations, I would then buy a second. As long as you know you have a 2019 27" A2115 iMac19,1, there is no need to contact the seller, as is stated in the ad. All of the CPU variants of the 2019 A2115 use the same display. But beware: the 2020 27” iMac is also an A2115 model, but its display has some special “True-Tone” LCD panel that makes it different from the 2019 iMac! This display will NOT replace that of a 2020 27” iMac!The package arrived very quickly, less than 48 hours after ordering, in a well-built, sturdy thick double-wall cardboard box, foam protection around the edges and front/back, and plastic protectors corner protectors. The packaging was designed to survive Amazon shipment handling. In the package there was also a black plastic wheel plus replacement wheels for cutting the foam tape around the iMac’s periphery to free the old display, as well as adhesive strips to seal it back up. I.e., a complete kit to remove and replace a display. But of course, you will have to do the actual work. After opening the package and lifting out the display, I slowly scanned it front and back, comparing it to the old broken displays I had. If this is a Chinese knockoff, it is an extremely accurate one! Every cut, corner, bend, screw, metal type, etc., matches the original. The original has a sticker with the letters “LG Display LGDGZ” that tells me the Apple Retina displays were made by LG. Was this replacement display made by LG? It has to be noted that everything else on the panel looks exactly like the Apple panel, but the sticker on the LCDOLED display omits this part! You be the judge. Other than that, the only other difference I could spot is the lack of a large black tape patch that matches the placement of the exposed bottom of the iMac’s power supply. I guess it’s not needed. (Note: the second display HAD the large black patch, which the first did not. Hmmmm.)You are told to remove the “thermal sensor” from the old display and move it over to the new display. I used Kapton tape to hold down both the sensor and its wire, matching Apple's placement of them. (For you engineering propeller heads, the thermal sensor is nothing but a simple diode in a SOT-363 package! Diodes have a negative tempco, which is often used as a poor man’s thermal monitor. A conventional 1N914 should do the job.) Without the sensor, the single fan in the iMac will run at full blast,, so make sure you transfer the little temp sensor. Secondly, transfer the old data cable to the display. These two tasks are easy. There is a purple-tinted sticker covering the opening for the camera at the top of the glass, on the backside. Be sure to remove it before installation because the instructions fail to mention it!I discovered four very small screws around the perimeter on the backside were missing, that were there on the original. No problem, I just removed four small screws off of the old display and screwed them into the vacant holes on the new display. That’s the only real “flaw” I found on the display, a tiny one at that. (Note: the second display was missing NONE to the screws. I’m starting to feel like LCD #1 was an earlier revision of the display.)I used Kapton tape to add a little more hold-down to the long cable that runs around the perimeter of the display. Some parts of the tape had lifted off of the aluminum. I thought the Kapton would improve the stick. (Note: LCD #2 had that tape added around the perimeter, as Apple had done. More hmmmmm.)In my photos, the yellow areas are where I used 1/2” Kapton, aka “polyamide," tape. The stuff is cheap on Amazon. Kapton tolerates extremely high temperatures, up to 250 degrees C. It is also non-conducting, so you can cover exposed electrical nodes with it, too. Since the inside of the iMac will at times get hot, Kapton is a good choice to tape down things on the display’s backside. Kapton is not sticky-sticky. It’s a weak adhesive, but it never fails as conventional high-tack adhesives will do.It was time to test the new display. I leaned it against the iMac, letting the display bottom rest on the same surface as the iMac’s stand. When you do that, you can easily connect the two cables from the display to the iMac’s logic board. It’s not a bad idea to use a couple of strips of masking tape to hold the display against the iMac shell to prevent the display from falling over. Connect the AC power cord to the computer’s back, hit the power button, and hold your breath! To my great relief, the machine booted (in black and white), followed by the Catalina splash screen. I got into Finder and started looking over color choices in the Desktop Settings, selecting solid colors, then tried the different colors in the menu. They looked okay, but they seemed a bit dull. I opened the Display preferences panel and cranked up the Brightness to maximum. Next I clicked on the Color tab. Apple's default color profile is, naturally, “iMac. Quite frankly, I wasn’t liking what I saw in terms of black and white. One of the tests of any LCD display is how white white is, and how black black is. I thought each looked a bit washed out. You can experiment with the different “Profiles”, but I found that “Generic RGB Profile” looked the best. At times like this, you need an expensive calibrator to get the best out of the new LCD display, but I have nothing like that. Gotta use my eyeballs instead. You can also create your own color profile in the Colors tab. Hold down the Option key while you click on “Calibrate” button, then follow the instructions. Save it as something like “iMac My Calibration.” That improved things a bit, too. I can't help but think that Apple's "iMac profile" is calibrated to their specifications. When a replacement display like this is substituted, then the calibration is out of kilter, and must be recalibrated as best you can.Once I did that, I must say that I think the color is quite good along with the brightness. Is it “Retina quality”? I have no idea how to quantize Retina or this new display, but I am good with the colors and brightness after these adjustments. My expectations being met, I ordered a second display and installed it as well. I still find it odd that there was a visible difference ON THE BACK SIDE of the two displays that I received, but the colors on each looked equal. That's all that matters, isn't it?I wrote this long review for anyone out there who needs to replace his LCD display. I’m here to tell you that the LCDOLED replacement display for the 2019 iMac is very good, and priced slightly below what you will find on the “auction site.” Plus, Amazon offers “free returns” in case you have any qualms about the product. I liked that safety margin.Highly recommended!
