The front bumper on our Outback has no protection at all so this works great for protecting the paint when you do the little taps when you’re parking.

This is an excellent product in order to protect your bumper and license plates. My front plate was damaged badly from other drivers banging their car against mine, so when I ordered new plates, I ordered FlexyFrame. It works great because not only does it protect your plate, but because it is about one inch in thickness, it places a nice gap between cars. Very easy to install and if you have vanity plates like I do, it displays almost the entire plate, not like others that cover about 1/2 inch around the plate.

So the main reason I purchased this frame was because my front license plate bracket had been the victim of far too many close encounters...basically the plastic was cracked at the corners and overall compressed due to parking too close to the wall too many times by the previous owner. This being a luxury car, I decided to look online for the proper replacement. Most auto websites online didn't sell the correct one, but I did find a dealer that did a good job posting parts specs online, only to find the piece of plastic cost 90 dollars. And no, I was not planning on paying that much.So I decided to give this a try. I would say there are a few issues to be aware of:1a. It seems a "selling point" of this frame is that you pop in your license plate and then secure the frame + license plate straight into your bumper.1b. This is much more in line with a license plate frame rather than a license plate bracket.A lot of the photos here show it seemingly doing the job of both the bracket and frame...on cars with a flat front grille. But with the way my car's bumper is shaped (or any car in which the front bumper has sharp angles), it does not do a good job of being the bracket at all. So I would consider this to be simply nothing more than a rubber license plate frame (1b).Furthermore, the way it is designed to be attached to the bumper (assuming you use this as the license plate bracket also), is straight through the license plate holes. For those of you who already have a bracket in place, you just screw it onto the bracket, which I imagine is no big deal. For those who saw the photos as a bracket replacement, you are forced to make a choice - do you want to put two more screw holes into your bumper? Most likely, your original bracket had the screw hole placement in a different location than that of the license plate. So if you have to remove your old bracket (like I did), you now must decide if you want two new holes (or perhaps even 4 holes) punched into your bumper.2. Following on from point 1a, I decided to go for it and punched two new holes into the bumper. And then I realized the mistake I made. Again, my front bumper where the license plate goes juts out beyond the rest of the bumper, which recesses behind it. I realized why the manufacturer's 90 dollar piece of plastic worked so well as soon as I finished attaching the license plate and flexyframe. Quite simply, the original bracket created a flat surface and perpendicular angle (to the ground) on which to mount the license plate. It was built to overcome the curves of the bumper. With the flexyframe, I installed it in line with the old drill holes so they wouldn't be exposed, but it had a slight slope to it...which caused my plate to just out like buck teeth. Let's just say anyone who wants to read my plates while standing certainly appreciate not having to look down so far... Needless to say, this looks terrible.3. From other reviewers, the bottom two hole attachments are far too big to be pushed through the license plate to secure it. I just let them ride freely.4. This is a rubber item, and since I don't have all the bottom points secured, it has the tendency to be pulled along by gravity, so the bottom middle sags slightly.Bottom line, if you have a flat grille and don't mind putting new drill holes into the bumper, could be a good idea. If you don't, this is not a bracket replacement...make sure you have a good bracket to install this onto. Otherwise it could look terrible.

Wanted a nice blank black front license plate frame and came across this. Checked the measurements online and the HD one looked like it was too much, glad I bought this LD one because it's big enough already. What a smart product, glad I tried it. This would truly protect your car and the vehicle in front of you in a low-impact collision (think like a tiny bump). Especially since it covers the screws. It looks good and frames around the plate well. I just wanted it because it looked better than any black plastic frame out there. And this is jut the LD version. The HD version is much thicker, it must provide a great cushion.

This was pretty easy to install on Illinois plates. I used it for my front plate, and works fine with a Yaris. You need to be a little careful with the plugs that hold the bottom of the plate, working them in from the edge rather than just shoving them through.I like how it is one piece, so you don't have to deal with brackets, frames, screw covers etc etc and how there is also a flap that goes behind the plate so the plate doesn't come into direct contact with your car. It is like one of those silicone cases for you smartphone, but heavier duty and made for a license plate. The only trouble was finding the right screws since I did not have holes in my front bumper when I installed it, but that wasn't the fault of this product.

The HD is really awesome, thick and really protects. But it is really really heavy. Since my car had no license plate bracket and only two screws holding the license plate in the bumper, I got this one also, (moved the HD to another car). This one was much lighter. Will it protect as well as the HD, heck no, but it was better than having the license plate rip out of the front bumper. Will the LD protect me from parking and accidentally hitting the wall in a parking deck, yep. Will it help from other drivers when they parallel park, not as much as the HD. They parallel parker must be moving really slow and stop when they know they made contact. The HD can absorb a little move movement (meaning someone backs into your car and keeps on going just a little bit more, and I mean a very tiny bit more).

Flexyframe is a life changer! I live in DC and park on the street the majority of the time. I recently got a new car and was very worried about damage to my car as well as others. However, as an interior designer I was equally concerned about aesthetics. I did not want to purchase any of the "bumper protectors" I had seen around the City as they looked obtrusive and unattractive. And then, after a bit of searching, I found the perfect solution...Flexyframe. The "barely there" protector was exactly what I had been seeking. The price was right as was the design. It arrived quickly and I was elated to see that it fit perfectly around my license plate--barely noticeable. Since owning Flexyframe I have been much more comfortable parking in the City--it allows me to fit comfortably in snug spots without worry. I recommend it to anyone looking for a sleek design that also protects--it's really the only way to go. Flexyframe should be the license plate standard of protection--it rocks.
