Does the job for basic soldering projects. We are novice at best, so not sure how this would compare to other brands or types, but it worked for our needs.

This spool of solder melts and flows easily with my 35W iron. The wire diameter is the finest of my drawer choices and fills the need for when I need small amounts of solder. It works with the various resin fluxes I have. I would consider buying this again when comparing to other small diameter solders in the future.

I recently started using PNECK Lead Free Solder Wire for my soldering projects, and I’m impressed with its performance. Made from a robust Sn99.3 Cu0.7 alloy, this solder wire ensures excellent electrical conductivity, making it suitable for a range of applications, from electronics and plumbing to jewelry making. One of the standout features is the rosin core with a 2% flux content. It provides strong and clean joints, which is crucial for ensuring reliable connections in my projects. The solder melts at a low temperature of 217°C, which helps to prevent overheating components, so I’ve experienced consistent results across the board. The 0.8mm (0.031 inch) diameter of the wire is perfect for precision soldering tasks, especially on intricate circuit boards and delicate jewelry pieces. I found it easy to work with, making my soldering tasks much more manageable.Another important aspect is that this solder wire is eco-friendly and RoHS-compliant, so I feel good knowing I'm using a product that contains no harmful lead. This ensures a safer and healthier environment while I tackle my repairs and DIY projects.Overall, I highly recommend PNECK Lead Free Solder Wire for anyone involved in DIY projects or soldering tasks. It's versatile, reliable, and delivers high-quality results, making it a must-have for hobbyists and professionals alike!

I have been re-decking my boat and, in the process, I have been doing a bunch or rewiring while the old deck is out. I’ve been busting through rolls of solder so I ordered this Pneck lead-free solder to give it a try. My poor understanding of lead-free solder led me to believe that it has a higher melting point so I turned my soldering wand up to 700 degrees. Only later did I see that the Pneck formulation is specifically designed for LOW heat (217 degrees). It really didn’t turn out to be a problem as the Pneck performed very well even at the higher heat setting. I did see that the Pneck product has 2% flux included so I did my initial soldering of two braided copper wires (pictured) without any additional flux. The results were quite nice! I then added a bit of flux paste to an additional portion of the wires I was soldering. I suppose the solder flowed a bit more freely, however, not enough for me to bother with additional flux in the future. As you can see in the photo, my finished joint came out fairly clean for an amateur. I pulled hard on the two segments of wire and I could not break the bond. Nice! This is an excellent product at a very good price point (~$14) for 100 grams. Five stars!

I got this to use on my stained glass projects, but I didn’t know that lead free means it requires a higher temperature and I cracked a couple of glass pieces from how hot it is because I wasn’t being careful. I’m fairly new at it. I gave it four stars because it works as intended, but I do wish it had a warning. I do like the fact that it is safer to use so I might keep trying at it and hopefully it will work out.

This is lead free solder, for those who are not as familiar to soldering, it's much safer to work with because you don't need to be in as well ventilated area. However, like all the other lead free solders, it tends to require a higher temperature to melt appropriately, in my case seems to be over twice the temperature. My soldering gun requires it to almost be maxed out in order to melt this. I think I'd prefer the leaded version and I will just open some windows.
