This set of alphabet word games is quite nice for children learning early literacy skills. It comes as a set of 4 sturdy boxes, one for each of up to 4 players. Each tile (represented as a graham cracker) is a good size for young hands to maneuver. The beginning and ending sounds are clearly distinguished on each tile and underlined for additional visual cues regarding orientation. There are clear directions, in multiple languages for those learning English, for ways to play with the tiles, and there are also numerous ways for the child or adult to expand on those. I am using this set with my 3, 4, and 5 year old nieces and nephews, and they love interacting with the materials and the content. Every once and while, we throw in some real s’mores as an extra fun follow up. I think this set is a good resource for early phonics, as well as social interaction skills, and a good value.

This is a really fun and cute game with lots of variations for play. My son is just beginning to sound out cvc words and some blended sounds, so he was the perfect age for this. He loved the presentation, especially the marshmallow pieces which actually have a slightly squishy texture to them! I love that there are ways you can make this game easier or harder as needed. Would be great for small group centers/rotations, or just at home play to supplement learning! My 8 year old daughter even enjoyed playing with her brother and helping him sound out words. My only tiny issue is that sometimes, one of us would have a word that is technically a word, but not commonly used, such as "cad", for example. It was a good learning example for me to teach my kids a new word, but also got a little tricky because they didn't recognize these words themselves, if that makes sense.

This is a very good age appropriate game for five year old/kindergarten school age children looking to reinforce sight words. I appreciated that the directions were easy to follow and not too complicated. I really enjoyed this game and only with the texture of the marshmallow was not so gummy and more fluffy so it felt more like a real one. However it kept my child’s interest and we enjoyed the game for a good 30-40 minutes playing multiple times. Highly recommend as the concept is great. It would have also been nice for the pieces to be stored in a reusable bag vs plastic bags but just minor feedback.

This game has lots of plusses to it. The idea is fun and creative, the directions are well-written and there are multiple ways it can be played, and the little graham cracker phonics pieces are adorable, yet large enough not to cause a choking hazard if snagged by a younger sibling. The problem? The marshmallows. These are made of a slightly sticky, soft plastic rubber substance. While the makers wisely chose to make a hole through them to prevent choking, they're still the type of texture that will tempt even a five or six-year-old to try chewing on them. Between the health risks of the plasticizers that make them soft and the choking risk if a piece was bitten off, I'd be hesitant to allow use without very close supervision. Now that parents are more aware of the health dangers of soft plastics, I'm a little surprised that Learning Resources didn't just choose to make the marshmallows of hard plastic, similar to what they used for the graham crackers.I've solved the problem by removing the "marshmallows", which aren't vital to the game anyway. We'll just be enjoying learning phonics by making chocolate graham cracker sandwiches instead!

Absolutely fantastically fun way for beginners to incorporate letters to create words!Perfect for themed summer rotating shelves for homeschooling as well.Note that kids should know their phonics, letter sounds, letter blends before playing this game or have a plan to teach as you play.

Ordered this for my 4 year old. She loves it. Sometimes we play by the rules and sometimes we make up our own rules. No matter how we play she is learning and building words. It has helped us on our journey to reading and I am so happy to have found another fun way to learn.

The Learning Resources Let’s Spell S’mores is a fun and engaging educational toy designed to help young learners develop phonemic awareness and early reading skills. Inspired by the classic treat, this Montessori-style activity uses flashcards and word-building pieces to make spelling interactive and hands-on. It’s especially useful for kindergarteners, kids with dyslexia, and speech therapy practice. Parents and educators appreciate its durability and effectiveness, though some may find the set a bit limited in word variety. Overall, it’s a great tool for making early literacy learning enjoyable!

This is a fun learning game that appeals to many ages. It is a fun concept and we sat down and played it with the five year old and the ten year old. Itnswems to be well made and should hold up well.
