This " FORTIVO Leather Burnishing Gum for Smooth Glossy Edges - Quick-Dry & Waterproof Leather Edge Sealer, Professional Leather Burnisher for All Type of Leather - Leather Burnishing Tool" works very well for finishing rough edges of leather when used with a burnishing head on a multi-functional electric tool and with a burnishing wooden hand tool. It is absorbed into the edge of the leather, and it dries into a smooth finish that you can leave on it's own. I use leather edge (a finish paint) to finish off purse straps, seams, and belts. If you use an electric tool burnishing head it's best to start at a low speed/revolutions so the head doesn't get too hot,or you may take off too much of this burnishing gum. I like to use two coats, one after the first coat, when the gum is totally dry. I got excellent results with this product and it is a good value.

This is a really good quality burnishing gum, and it is very easy to apply. It finishes very smoothly, and it looks very professional when applied properly. This is a really good option and a good value for the price. I recommend it!

I like to keep burnishing gum handy as there are times I notice the straps and handles on my leather purses need a bit of TLC. I use a wooden burnishing tool for those, as technically, the edges were previously burnished and I'm doing more of a touch up than anything.I find that this works exactly as expected, and it does dry pretty fast, faster when there's less humidity in the air.I tend to do one coat, let that dry completely, and then do another light coat. This product doesn't seem to darken the leather after it dries, which is a plus, and it will gloss up to a nice sheen/polish.One thing that needs to be noted, however, is that there's an added fragrance to this product which I haven't encountered on similar products. This will limit when and how often I use it, as I'll need to use it outside or in a heavily ventilated room due to my fragrance sensitivity. Once dried, I cannot smell the fragrance, but it is a bit confusing as to why they'd add fragrance to a leather burnishing cream at all. This also is a bit more expensive than the other cream I've used, with no fragrance. While that one does darken the leather a bit, the results are otherwise the same, so I'm not certain this brand will convert me to a repeat customer.

This leather burnishing gum is easy to use. I used this to touch up an old belt whose edges were in need of a bit of buffing. This burnishing gum had no bad odors to it and it was easy to use. I got a nice glossy sheen back on my belt and it dried quickly without and sticky residue.

I used this to mend an old Coach bag I had, whose edges had peeled. It does exactly what it's meant to without darkening the leather edge. It dries fairly quickly, and I used 2 coats, and a wooden rod to apply, with dry time in between. The smell, however, would get to me if I had to use this for extended periods of time.

This works well- I apply it in a thin layer and then reapply once the first layer is thoroughly dry. If using it to touch up edges I usually don't need to burnish it.The only reason I deducted a star is that it does have a fragrance to it that other burnishing gum doesn't have. Once it dries it is very faint and then dissipates but it is annoying when you are applying so would be sure to do it with open windows or outdoors if possible.

When used with a burnishing bit on a rotary tool, this burnishing gum works well to finish the edges of leather goods. I previously just used the rotary tool and bit and could not get a uniform curved edge. This gum makes it easier although it still takes a little bit of practice. This is a longer lasting edge treatment than painting, which is what I also did. It has a slight fragrance. It is not offensive to me and helps mask burning leather. It is not too expensive although maybe a little higher than similar products.

It’s okay, I agree with other reviewers on this, but I still like Tokonole better overall. Does have a slight smell that I don’t care for, but it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever smelled.
