Fixed up my ancient Nutone door bell. Fit existing 5/8 hole perfectly. Nice light.

These buttons started falling apart after a few days of use. The housing twists to lock but it is not tight and comes undone. The plastic retaining fins poorly secure the button and allows it to spin and fall out. I recommend getting one with spring steel retainers.

Tried to install on metal door casing. Was very hard to slide into hole, but after it went in it was loose. When I tried to take it out, it came apart.

Point taken away for no current driver and only simple resistor used to set drive current of LED; i.e. not as efficient as possible when driving the LED light. Point taken away for bulky portion of LED that sticks out the back and holds circuitry and screw wire terminals; had to drill out existing hole a bit deeper. Screw could have been 1/2" longer as I was replacing in a hollowed out existing mounting location that was set in the wrong spot. Duct tape around screw makes it look like screw is actually mounted in to hole, but just keeps screw from falling out and in place. Only use the doorbell a dozen times a year so for heavy duty use this fix may not be acceptable and you want a longer screw.
