I bought this product because my vehicle does not have a built-in compass. Large and very stylish. Very accurate, especially with line. Sun cover a nice addition.

First off, let me say that this compass has many brand names and is sold by many different vendors. This particular one was the least expensive at the moment. My four year old version of this compass went south (sorry) and I needed to replace it and figured if I get another four years, that's ok. I was going to try a different type of compass, but when I went to remove the mount from my windshield, it was really stuck on there. That's some mighty tape/adhesive they include with these! Rather than risk breaking my windshield, I opted to just get the same compass so I could use the existing mount. By the way, the old compass had all of the fluid missing. I didn't ever notice a wet spot, so I think it evaporated over time. When the new one arrived I noticed it had undergone some updates in the last 4 years. Most noticeably is the main compass dial/face, which is considerable bigger now (see my pictures). I also wonder if the lack of fluid just makes the older dial look smaller... fluid optics like a dew drop? I included a picture of the old compass when it was new and the dial/face looks big like the new one. Either it shrunk or the fluid has a magnification property in this configuration (it is kind of shaped like a dew drop). Any experts want to weigh in?Also, the red light for night viewing seems brighter and more even, but perhaps that's because it's new. There are other small changes when comparing them side by side, but basically, most of it is exactly the same. It comes with a little tool to calibrate the compass, but no instructions on how to do it.There are two adjustment "screws' that can be rotated to adjust north/south and the other one is for east/west. I'm pretty sure the adjustment screw on the side is for east/west and the one in front is for north/south adjustments. You'll have to play around to try to get it as accurate as possible and move your vehicle several times to known n/s & e/w directions and make your adjustments. Adjusting one can adversely effect the other, so you have to go back and forth some. Having a big metal object nearby (not counting your vehicle) will require some compass adjustment. I've been able to get both of the compasses pretty much spot on, but when my windshield wipers are going, the compass jumps around some. By the way, this is mounted in a VW Vanagon camper and it has big wipers on a huge windshield.Anyway, if you like a big compass, this one is pretty cool. Beware that it may only last a few years. I think the sunlight just takes its toll over time. Here's a link to the compass I purchased 4 years ago: https://amzn.to/3KT5fxx to compare if you wish, but I think they're all the same.

The floating ball is so crooked the compass is barely usable. Zero documentation.

The compass came with no direction, UNACCEPTABLE, Also it points to North 75% of the time. Poor workmanship and the company should have given some form of information about setting it up
