I wanted to write this review since there aren’t many on this product yet. The fitment was perfect for my iPod 5th Generation 30GB model, and with resources like iFixit, the installation was super straightforward. I opted to upgrade the storage using iFlash's kit while the device was open. The audio quality is fantastic, and it looks great. For anyone looking for a replacement part for either the switch or audio jack (especially since iFixit is out of stock right now), this is a great option. Thank you to the seller for providing this replacement part!

The headphone jack works great after I replaced the old jack.

I have a iPod classic 5th gen. After upgrading the LCD screen, front cover, and new batteries, the headphone jack went out. So I bought this, and took 15 minutes to replace due to four tiny screw. You need a flat surface, tweezers, lots of patience, and a small kit designed to open IPod classics. It was well worth the install time.

Works great in my thin model 7th gen after the battery adhesive took a chunk of the original flex ribbon with it.

For fun I thought I'd upgrade my old 5th gen iPod with one of those flash card setups to replace the hard drive. While I was at it I also replaced the battery and I needed one of these to replace the audio jack because the click wheel sound those iPods made actually comes from a teeny little speaker that is a part of this item. The hold switch is black instead of silver like the original but otherwise works perfectly and now I have a refurbished iPod with tons more storage, is lighter, and has its old click working again.

This is actually identical to the OEM replacing it was not easy just tedious. And having to be very careful. Totally worth it. Sometimes you just want to hear your old music and this is the way to go. Just have patience and a steady hand. I’m missing the latter. That is why it was tedious. This it fits and works like the OEM part.

I bought this because my Ipod hold switch would not unlock the controls. I installed this new one and it made no difference. I sent the seller a message asking if it had been tested before being sold to me and they said to clean the contacts to which I replied "Of coarse I cleaned the contacts and you did not answer my question of was it tested to make sure it works" I got no reply to that. So I would say buyer beware.

My original headphone jack was dying; I was only getting audio out of the right channel. Spent about 15 minutes taking the old one out and putting this one in, and the iPod is as good as new :D

Maybe some extra screws, so small easy to lose. I used gum on screwdriver to hold screw! After treading battery connection push down to lock. You'll see, good luck.
