The LENOX Tools Bi-Metal Speed Slot Arbored Hole Saw with T3, 2-1/2"-64mm, has enhanced tooth geometry that cuts 50% faster than previous LENOX hole saws. Twice as durable as our previous generation when cutting through metal, this bi-metal hole saw with a standard arbor features thicker walls to minimize tooth loss and improve durability. A staircase SPEED SLOT has a wide slot placed low on the hole saw and multiple leverage points to make it easy to work plugs out with a screwdriver. This design effectively removes sawdust and chips and helps prevent plugs from becoming stuck in the saw. 10% taller than previous models, it delivers cleaner cuts through two-by lumber.

The Lenox Tools 1223740A 40A Bi-Metal Speed Slot Arbore Hole Saw, 2-1/2-Inch or 64mm outperforms all competitors in wood cutting, plug removal, and metal cutting applications. The patent pending Speed Slot features a staircase design for easy plug removal. The slot is wider than most and is placed lower on the hole saw with multiple leverage points to easily eject the plug with a standard screwdriver. The hole saw is 10-percent taller than the previous model to deliver cleaner cuts through two-by lumber. The Speed Slot efficiently removes saw dust and chips while producing a fast cut and preventing the plug from getting stuck in the saw. The new hole saw also features up to twice the life of the previous model when cutting metal. An enhanced tooth geometry, a thin kerf design and an advanced coating contribute to the efficiency of the cutting process by removing material faster, therefore generating less heat while cutting.

Used this to cut a hole in the dash of the bridge on my boat for tilt switches. It worked very fast and left a clean and precise hole even in the fiberglass. So it’s very accurate. Blade stayed sharp throughout the project and I still use it. Fit perfect in my Ryobi cordless drill. Great price for functionality.

Picked this up to install my mini-split in my garage. This is the second LENOX hole saw I've picked up and they are good quality saws. As others have mentioned, be sure to tighten it up or it can spin off when you stop drilling.

I had been using a Benchmark hole saw and although it was fine for the thin layer of metal, it did not work for the thicker, so I ordered the Lenox hole saw and it finished the job in less than a minute. I should have ordered the Lenox to start with. Very pleased.

I used this to cut holes in metal HVAC ducts to install UV lights. Gets the job done with no complaints. Keep in mind you need some power behind this and smaller cordless drills will struggle or not work.

Bought the cheapo ikea one for their led puck lights. Took 5 minutes of smelly dusty cutting to break through my cabinets. Bought the Lenox. Did the job in 20 seconds, cleaner and with less dust. Highly recommend.

This is a monster! I had to drill a hole through a 2x4 plus subfloor (1 1/2 in + 19/32 in) and didn't notice that there was a steel nail right on the edge. This hole saw split the nail in half! And the staircase design of the slots on the sides of the saw definitely made the plug removal very easy. If I need to buy a different diameter hole saw, I'll pick a Lennox again.

Works like a charm. Great buy, considering it comes with the pilot drill attachment. Used it for cutting multiple holes in 1/2 plywood. After some use, I was able to get the plug to just drop off without any prying. Seemed the easier/slower I made the cut, the more likely I was able to just run the drill for a few seconds after the cut and the plug will fall out (3 out of 5 times). High quality product. Will likely purchase other sizes as need in the future.
