When the grill press is heated sufficiently, the ridged surface will create perfect char marks every time. Start by heating it to the same temperature as the grill or pan, then place directly on top of foods to accelerate cooking. The cast iron distributes heat evenly to help speed up cooking times.
Caring for Your Cast Iron Grill Press
1.To avoid rusting, clean after each use by wiping excess food and oil away with a paper towel or non-abrasive scrub pad.
2. Rinse well, and pat dry immediately. Never soak cast iron.

I have wanted these for a while, going back to my days working in a kitchen when I was in college. I use them regularly to hold down bacon, grilled cheese, or making smash burgers all at home. They are heavy as they should be. They fit well in all my pans and work well with my portable Blackstone. Priced at under $20 gives these 2 good value. Cleaning is clumsy so have a good brush to scrub them clean. Would buy again and it may be a future gift for my daughter in law.
