About this item

  • FOR LE POTATO AND TRITIUM BOARDS: Compatible with Libre Computer AML-S905X-CC and ALL-H3-CC only!
  • QUICK AND EASY INSTALLATION: Remove the plastic cover to expose the thermal adhesive. Remember the position of the center of the main chip. Orient the heatsink with the short side towards the ethernet and the long side towards the IR sensor. Push down on the position of the center of the main chip to entire full contact. Push in the retainers.
  • MAKE SURE TO CHECK ORIENTATION AND BALANCE: Align the heatsink with the board first to make sure that it covers all the components on the board. Make sure to push down on the center of the main SoC chip. If you push down on the edge, the heatsink could be slanted and not cool effectively. Run a CPU benchmark and run "cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp" to verify temperature. If CPU shoots to 70C, the heatsink is not properly mounted.
  • WORKS GREAT WITH CASE FANS: Low profile and high surface area let this provide incredible heat dissipation when used together with an active cooling case.
  • LOVERPI ACTIVE COOLING MEDIA CENTER CASE RECOMMENDED: Designed specifically to work with the LoveRPi Active Cooling Media Center case for the ultimate combination!

Heatsink designed specifically for Libre Computer Board AML-S905X-CC and ALL-H3-CC.

It snaps into place and works pretty good

I'm sure this will function just fine but as other's have mentioned, it is a scaled back version that doesn't match the pictures with the Amazon listing. The heat sink area is still above the critical components(main chip and ram chips) so it should still be effective. Thermal pad seems thinner than the picture also. I'm sure this saves them on material costs only considering it is still extruded and now has keyholes punched out. Adding this to a 3d printed case and 40x10 5V fan for klipper.

I added this to my Le Potato and saw better system CPU temperatures than with the stock silver aluminum individual pieces. This fits securely into the drilled holes on the board and the thermal pad affixed to the underside of the heatsink appears to make good contact.Gets the job done and keeps thermals in check.

Keeps it cool, it fits on the le potato

Buy the board with this already on it and get the free wifi adaptor if you can but if you went for the cheaper board and now need a heat sink, this is the best one for the le potato. I tried the little single ones for Raspberry pi and they did not work as well as this much larger heatsink.

I ran my first SBC “Le Potato” under load without the heat sink or the case with the fan (which I also picked up), the temp hit almost 80 under heavy load. With the heat sink, and the same heavy load, the “Potato” hit 63. I recommend the heatsink and a fan case, because you can get the temp even lower; mine is now topping out at 54 after adding the fan case to the heatsinked “Potato”.Great quality, great performance, great price, will be getting another “Le Potato” w/heatsink & fan case.

This is exactly what I wanted! It was a "snap" to install and fit perfectly. The heatsink covers the CPU and the half of the memory on the top of the PCB. I don't think the memory really needs any sort of cooling, so this just gives it more space for the heat to spread. It lowers the CPU temp by about 20c while under high load. The only issue is that you have to install it the right way. It will fit either way, but will not totally cover the hatsink in the wrong direction. The other thing I don't like is that the sticky pad covers the entire bottom of the heatsink. It would have been better if it had been a couple smaller pads that matched. My long term worry is that crap will build up on the exposed sticky and just be gross.

This heat sink is anodized aluminum with a pre-applied thermal tape. It can be tricky to put on the right way if you're not paying real close attention - the two arms with push pins (pictured) are offset by approx. 2mm. So putting it on backwards is not going to provide 100% coverage as intended - considering the H5 runs a bit hotter than a lot of SoCs, I'd just be sure to take a few extra seconds to look at it before the pins are in place (also note, this will fit all of the Tritium models, as well as the Le Potato models).I was also able to fit the board with the heatsink in a generic case with a small 5v fan and it fit perfectly for me - it's definitely low profile! Although I have had my frustrations with the H5 board so far, it is fairly new to market and I'm certain the issues will get ironed out - it's a quality board, just not to full potential yet. When it starts to realize its full potential, I think a heat sink will likely be desired. This one designed specifically for the board layout, and given it's reasonable price, I would definitely recommend this as an item to get with your Tritium or Le Potato boards
