Masking tape should take into account the balance between the continuous stickiness and easy to tear with no residue. If you want strong adhesion when you use it, you can press along the tape properly with your hand after the tape is affixed.***
Directions for Use
Tape is designed for Indoor use – exposure to sun and heat may cause tape to become more difficult to remove.
Make sure surfaces are thoroughly clean and dry before applying masking tape.
Some surfaces, such as rubber gaskets and moldings, should be cleaned with a solvent to remove residual release agents from the manufacturing process before applying masking tape.
For best adhesion, surface temperatures should range from 60°F to 90°F when tape is applied.
For easier application and removal, apply long continuous strips of tape in flat, straight areas and break the tape often when going around contours or curves such as wheel arches.
The objective when back masking and over-taping is to keep the tape lying flat and rolled back, away from the paint edge in order to produce the cleanest look.

I wanted to be able wrap stainless steel trim sand such, labeling it as well.1, not very sticky, kinda a good thing, unless it's a rusty steel part2, can't write on it with s sharpie easily. It bleeds out and becomes hard to write and read it.Won't be buying again.

I have used this tape for automotive use and a couple home improvement projects with latex and oil based paint. The 3M tape is better, but quite a bit more expensive. This tape is very thin, so you have to be a little careful when you remove it. It is somewhat prone to tearing, but not as bad as you expect, considering how thin it is. The adhesion is good and the thinness means you can tape fine edges with good results. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it...particularly, after pricing the name brand stuff!

I've been doing paint and body work for over 30yrs and with the prices of other name brand automotive tapes getting up there I was looking for something reasonably priced. I came across Lichamp and ordered the 10 pack of tape. I had a job to do and was happy when it arrived. It's a bit thinner than 3m but the (adhesive) stickiness was better and I was happy. I used it on the 1st job and my only concern was bleed-thru on the edges but was pleasantly surprised...... no bleed-thru... I used all 10 rolls without any problem...I re-order and noticed it doesn't stick nearly as good, I pulled off about 10ft and it seemed to be a little better but not near as good as my 1st order... I checked and all 10 rolls were the same. Contacted Amazon and they sent a replacement out 3 days after contact. Sad to say, same problem... Contacted Amazon and waiting to hear back. They are going to contact Lichamp to find out if there was a problem or if they changed the adhesive or ???? And get back to me. Now it's a waiting game....What started out as something great has me running back to the UPS Store for the 2nd time

The backing is much thinner, but it is usually strong enough to hold. At $10 a roll for Scotch brand, it was an easy decision. Now I need cost effective paper for my masking machine.

Perfect for painting automobiles. Tape lasts 1 day (as it should) before it loses some adhesion. I have painted 2 cars with only 1 1/2 rolls. Dont buy a large quantity because old tape sucks and is NO GOOD, so keep your inventory low and fresh for best painting. I will buy a new box next Spring.
