I do not need these for medical purposes, but I thought they would make a great conversation piece for my living room, and boy, was I right. My friends come over and have so much fun using these in the most ridiculous ways. They are very well made and are extremely lifelike. Would definitely recommend for likening up your Friday nights!

Boy, how I wish I had access to this model when I was in medical school! This accurate PVC depiction of the lower lumbar vertebrae shows all the important articulations in this area of the human skeleton. It is the 3D nature of this model which makes it especially useful as a study aid for healthcare students. The structures are sufficiently detailed so that medical students, resident physicians, and even clinical instructors will find this tool equally sufficient for learning and demonstrating this important anatomic region. The model is also an appropriate adjunct for patient-centered teaching prior to a planned surgical procedure. Very reasonable price, solid construction, appropriately detailed: get one of these for yourself and your patients!

I got these to teach my kids about the anatomy of the human spine. I am very impressed by how well made it is and the fact that it actually feels like bone. It also has a different feel for the cartilage and the "spinal cord" so it helps the kids differentiate between the three. The stand makes it easier to work with without having to hold it, and if you need to clean it, you can simply wipe it with a damp cloth...maybe a little soap. This is a perfect model for class instruction.

This model is accurate and well designed to explain anatomical structures and their functions. My only thins is it is a bit top heavy.

This plastic reproduction of the lumbar spine is - for the bony parts - anatomically correct. The white plastic “bone” is sturdy and nice. The stand upon which it is mounted is also fairly sturdy and nice. The yellow plastic “spinal cord” is - in a word - “flimsy” and not even close to what a spinal cord looks like. Provided you don’t mess with it too much, it will probably last awhile. But it was just ‘disappointing’ that all the rest except the spinal cord was so high quality and then find the thin, flat, yellow spinal cord so flimsy. It also would have been nice if the model showed more than just a red-painted spot on one disc representing a ‘herniated’ disc (it’s not even herniated… it’s simply a painted red spot on the disc). It would also have been relatively simple for the model to show perhaps a spinal stenosis or other common pathology of the lumbar spine. For what it is, and for the price, it’s “okay”. But it’s probably not something I’d use in my exam room to demonstrate anything except the normal bony portion of the lumbar spine.
