This was made for old folks. If you need to cut anything in the garden bigger than grass get one. They are also a way to make friends to other old people that are you friends. There is an addition to the instructions. If at first it doesn't cut through release the trigger and pull it a second time and it will go through. All I can say is that it is super. It is also a helper in reducing the about of bad words and time you would us cutting out woody stuff.

I loved this pruner because it worked so well. It really did cut up to 25 mm thick branches, and if the branch was too tough, it would just stop and back itself out when you released the trigger. The battery always seemed to last longer than I did, so I didn't need to recharge in the middle of a job. The pole pruner saved me a lot of ladder work, and it saved my arthritic hands.Last week, I was cutting a tough branch that was nearly 25 mm, and instead of stopping, the pruner started clicking as if a gear had stripped. Now it won't cut anything over about 5 mm. On anything larger, it barely starts the cut and sits there clicking.Update: I took the pruner apart and found that all the working parts are metal, and show little wear. Only the case is plastic. None of the gears were stripped, but two screws on the housing for the big ring gear (and maybe a clutch) were loose. I tightened those screws, and it worked like new. It's a high-quality product that should survive years of use. If the screws loosen again, I will put on some Loctite. This pruner appears to be similar to Scotts 7.2 volt pruner, PR17215S. The manual is available on the Scotts website, and some parts (battery, blade, and charger) are available on the American Lawn Mower website. I think these parts will fit (using the 7-prong battery), but I have no way of knowing for sure.

I've been injuring my hands trimming so I got this to help. It works great. It takes about two seconds to close the jaws during a cut, so I use a manual clipper for really thin twigs. But for those cuts where I need to apply strong pressure, I use this and it does well. It fits into spaces where I couldn't use a big manual shear. It's a little awkward when used at the end of the extension wand, but very comfortable in my hand, and my hand thanks me. Recommended.

It gets the job done, a littile too heavy for a 5 ft woman but it's worth the money.

A bit cumbersome to use extended. Heavier than expected. When used without the extension, the hand held clipper works well.

UPDATE--After the tornado damage in Houston, TX May 17, 2024, this was the second best tool for the tree debris cleanup after my 14-inch chainsaw, that my son and I used for the large diameter branches. My wife and daughter-in-law loved it for the small branches, until the battery died and no electrical power. I used my 120 Volt convertor and charged it from my SUV 12 Volt outlet. -- There are replacement batteries on Amazon!! Search for " 2023 Version LIGO Pruning Shear Replaced Battery "Compared to my old hand pruners and ladder climbing, this pruner is great. You can cut larger than 13-mm (0.5 inch) diameter branches by making multiple cuts. I cut some 1.5-inch (38-mm) live oak (Quercus virginiana) branches with it. I did those by hand using my ladder without using the pole, as I knew that would be too hard to work the cut groove from the ground.I was able to cut almost 85% of everything with the pole, only a few branches were too large to try using the pole. As with all pole pruners, your arms will get tired of holding them up in the air for too long. Take a rest stop when it occurs.

I love everything about this product. I have an unusual area in my yard behind a chain link fence, where I wish to clear/clean some brush and especially raspberry brambles and wild roses away because all spring, summer and fall they all invade my small usable yard and patio space. It's a mess. I have hand loppers that don't do it. I have a mini-chainsaw which is better, except the chainsaw does not allow me to adjust the angles and therefore it cuts everything in its path. Also the mini chainsaw is attached permanently to the extension pole. However this awesome tool is great especially since I am an elderly gardener so it's light weight. It can be used by hand. Or in junction with and expandable extension pole. I can reach many places both other tools never could reach. I can't say a lot about the battery (yet) since I have only charged it once and it is still on its first charge going strong. One other mention, it has a really nice wide diameter it can cut and it comes with an interchangeable larger blade. I love it.Besides my power-washer, (my favorite tool ever) this is now tied with that. :^)

This garden tool is so incredibly easy to use, convenient and effective. It can cut through an inch thick branch. I can cut small pieces and big pieces and it's battery is robust ... used it for an hour straight, yesterday, and it still had reserve. I can use it as a hand tool for small trimming. And, it reaches anywhere I need to reach With the extended pole.. Very happy with this product. Well worth the price. Thank you!!

If you need to prune small branch, about 1/2 in or less it is a good tool. The head adjustment is not ergonomically aligned with the extension handle. All the weight is in the head. This makes it a bit awkward but it is not overall heavy. I would have liked more power 1 ot 1 1/2 in cut would have been great.
