A well built and solid unit but just a little tight fit on my machine. It works well but each lock ear should be about .030 thinner for a easier fit.

Mixed feelings… it's a nicely weighted portafilter and a great upgrade for the stock portafilter that came with my Bambino Plus. (I swapped out the basket for an IMS basket as I prefer an 18g shot, so haven't really tested that aspect.)But on arrival the handle had what looked like a bit of something sticking to it. When I went to try and scrape it off, it turned out to be a fault in the coating, which then spread… over the couple of weeks I've been using it a couple more blemishes on the coating have appeared. I've ordered a replacement, but I've no idea how long that will take as it's showing as "order received".

This is a great, solid, and beautifully made portafilter. Nicely weighted and the wood handle is a good length with a variety of choices in color.Any complaints about splashing in reviews is not about the portafilter. It's all about the prep. It takes a lot of time and patience. If that's not for you it's ok, don't let the internet guilt you into something you're not ready for. Even if you believe you need a better basket, you can swap it out. For the price, I believe you still come out ahead with this portafilter. The seller makes a 2 spout version that is also great. People have been making great coffee with spouted portafilters for a very long time

Breville Barista Express MachineTo be completely honest- the handle is better than the original.I would still prefer the dual drip vs the bottomless, but other than that it fits snug/tight better than the original does. The original handle I have to twist hard to get it into place vs this one twists comfortable and without issue. The bottomless filter isn't my favorite (yes, if you do it right it wont 'splash' too much) as I prefer having the dual or single spout, but it's not a deal breaker.Overall though, it's a worthy investment. I have my single shot insert placed into this handle ready to go while the double shot insert is on my main handle. Works great in a pinch vs having to replace the insert everytime.

Beautiful accessory for the Breville Barista Express. Fits well, although noticeably tighter when installing into group/shower head. I find that a drop of water spread on the ears and top of basket makes install smoother.Dosing 18g with a screen/filter the shot comes out great with no splatter.Very minimal change in prep. After hours researching and now using, I highly recommend this product.

This portafilter was purchased to replace the stock one with the Breville Bambino. The stock portafilter is very light weight and although made of metal feels more like plastic. It is serviceable but wanted one that felt more substantial like my italian imported espresso machine portafilter. This portafilter definitely has that extra heft. No doubt this is a luxury purchase since the stock portafilter works as it is expected to but this portafilter just makes it feel more like the higher end imported machines and makes making an espresso a joy which is part of the whole experience.

No matter how perfect you grind and compact your coffeeIt doesn’t even matter if you are using the best beans in the world and or a filterIt will splash everywhere from a few wholes. It does come out slowly and nice but I wish I could get the same result just without the mess.I’ll upload a video.
