It’s always 68 degrees in the room this thing was placed in. It’s not near a draft or heat source or sun from a window. One of the middle numbered buoys has sank and the others are constantly floating. By the reading of the walrus, it is simultaneously 68 and 80…..

I'll be honest, I was worried this thing would be broken or damaged when it arrived, or wouldn't even work properly. But I was wrong! It came packaged EXTREMELY well and was not damaged at all - which is saying a lot, because my local delivery guys can be pretty rough on smaller packages. I have other Galileo thermometers and this one keeps temp just as well as the others, even being a much smaller and unique shape. Overall, VERY pleased! This would make a super unique gift for that hard to shop for person on your list, or for anyone that loves unique glassworks.

I love my galileo thermometers and this one is the CUTEST I have ever seen. usually they are the boring tower kind, but this one is so stinking cute. I have gotten a lot of compliments about this one in particular, and I haven't seen anything like this in retail stores. if you like galileo thermometers, you need this walrus in your life!!

This is super cute made out of glass so make sure you keep out of the reach of the young ones. The size is small enough to have on a desk or big enough to go on a mantel. The quality seems really nice with exceptional blown glass. The tempature reading is good for my house since we normally keep it between 68 - 74.

I’m in love with my Galileo Thermometer from Lily’s Home. I had been looking at one of their other thermometers, saw this adorable Walrus and decided to buy it as a gift. I’m now keeping it for myself. The Walrus doesn’t feel fragile but I have no doubt, if the cat decides to knock it off the shelf, it’s toast. It has paraffin oil which is flammable and can be poisonous if ingested so use caution when deciding where to display this. My vision isn’t great. Depending on the lighting, I’ve reached for a magnifying glass to see the temperature. I feel its readings are pretty accurate. I’d buy another as that gift for someone else.

We love it when functional meets beautiful.This Galileo thermometer - which uses the principle of density of the surrounding liquid to determine temperature changes - is likely to be more of a conversational piece than a toy to be played with (due to its fragility). The temperature range too is not wide, so it's meant for average interior displays to see it in action.No problem with the content upon delivery; the thermometer was very well packaged.The walrus is a nice hand-sized but breakable piece, such as its tusks. When shaken, you can hear the tiny tingling sound of the tags inside the liquid hitting the glass.The colored parts are vibrant, and the orbs work accordingly in basics.Perhaps not scientifically accurate in today's expectations, but it is a pretty reminder of the history behind what early discoverers came up with in those earlier era.

This is a conversation starter! I’m a walrus lover, so this fits in well with my (what I call) tasteful walrus memorabilia. I’m not sure how accurate it is, the temperature it shows is usually pretty different from the thermostat, but I still love watching it! I love that it’s glass and not plastic.
