Great socket in that you can put a 1/2” breaker bar in the end to really get some torque on it or use it with a 3/8” ratchet.

Very nice tool, especially with the ½" option. Unfortunately my sensor still wouldn't budge until I got a better torch head & then after cutting the sensor body off I got the sensor out easily with a standard 22mm 6-pt ½" drive impact socket I already had (& using shorter leverage). I don't see that as a fault of the tool. The tool is nice. Success depends on your sensor.

I thought I would have to remove the exhaust to change the O2 sensor, this tool allowed me to change the sensor without removing the exhaust! It's very sturdy and did not flex when removing the sensor and it has a several options for breaker bar or ratchet extension use.

Buy this one and do not mess with the others. I tried multiple brands of o2 sockets/wrenches on a stuck oxygen sensor. The others failed, this one did not fail. This one is the boss, got the job done. When using a 1/2" drive breaker bar make sure your detent ball on the breaker bar that holds sockets on is in place with the hole for it in this socket. It only goes in one position if you want it held on by the detent ball. I was skeptical at first the breaker bar might slip out using it in the position it is used in, but it did not slip out. This tool is worth the higher price over cheaper units, as it gets the job done. Great tool!

I had in the past used the o2 sensor kits you see online here. The tough o2 sensors that don't want to come out the socket sets have too much flex, you start getting physical and then pop your o2 nut is rounded and the fear starts to set in. On this next o2 I needed to do, I didn't want to go there again and decided to get this o2 sensor. What was appealing to me was the reviews and it has the nice feature of a 1/2 breaker bar on the end for extra leverage or 3/8 in tight spaces. I hit the sensor with penetrating fluid a day in advance and then when I was about to start work. The o2 sensor broke free without any issue. Installed new one, this socket is just so much more thick and less flex to round bolts. Get it, best money spent, forget the kits, this socket is built to do the job and avoid that rounding of the o2 sensor nut.

I bought this tool to remove 2 O2 sensors on a 2009 Nissan Frontier truck. I sprayed the sensors with Seafoam Deep Creep penetrating oil and waited a few minutes. I put this tool on the sensors and it fit perfect over the nut. There was very little play (less than 1 mm). I used a 3/8" socket wrench handle and was able to break the sensors free. There was no damage to the tool or sensor. It worked perfectly on both sensors and ready to use again when necessary on the other sensors. The 6 sided socket is made the full length of the tool which allows it to be placed on the sensor from either end. My principle is to buy a tool when needed and nothing else will work. I have quite a few specialty tools I've accumulated over the years. This tool is made of great quality steel, and I recommend it for anyone needing to remove O2 sensors.

I like this socket for the flexibility it offers. Not only can you use 3/8 and 1/2 drive, but it also allows you to from the end vs top/bottom only. This can be very useful. There is a hole for the detent ball on your ratchet or breaker bar which I find works far better than the grooves inside. It gives a firm grip on the socket. The construction seems solid and Lisle is a reasonable company, although the warranty can be somewhat difficult for DIY users. One thing I dislike is the hex configuration. This has a flat side of the hex facing the drive end, where there is another design where a point faces the drive end. This socket gives a full contact on 5 of the 6 sides and a small contact on each side of the 6th side. The other style gives full contact on 4 of the 6 sides, and a half contact and the remaining two. It seems that this design does not provide the same grip on the sensor, but I do have to say, having both designs is nice as it offers flexibility, which is important with O2 sensors. This socket is expensive compared to others. But in this case, if you want the unique features, this is the price you need to pay. In my experience O2 socket needs cannot often be met with a single socket design. You need regular and long reach, shallow and deep, etc. This socket will provide a nice addition to the flexibility of your O2 sockets.

Despite having a couple other oxygen sensor sockets I couldn’t get at my F150 ecoboost bank 2 sensor 1. This worked like a champ with a breaker bar the 3/8 socket. It’s the only one I’ll reach for in the future.

Lisle has always been a great company, this O2 sensor wrench is great although a little bulky in tight spots, it is heavy duty and gets the job done. I like that you are able to use a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a 3/8 ratchet one to break loose and other to get it out. I would recommend this for anyone who has O2 sensors in accessible areas, it works great.
