Without getting into all the details, let's just say that this item works in my 4Runner voltage regulator circuit to increase the output voltage of the alternator so that it properly charges an AGL high discharge battery to a higher voltage. To find out more on where and how to install, check out YouTube U.How a 1A fuse can be used in a circuit normally fused at 10A is a mystery to me; I keep expecting it to blow so I always have a spare fuse. However, it really does work in my truck, and my battery is healthier now.How it raises the voltage is simply because the diode fools the regulator into thinking the charging voltage is slightly less than it really is so the regulator compensates by slightly raising the output voltage. This is because a diode takes a little voltage just to start conducting and this tiny voltage loss is enough to fake out the regulator.Pretty cool, eh?FYI, LittleFuse is a great company but this fuse was not meant for this purpose. You'd be using it at your own risk like the rest of us are.

I don't usually write reviews. I went to my local ford dealer and auto supply but they don't have any idea on what is this fuse is for. Took a photo and goggle search that led me to a couple of hits. I'm glad it's available on Amazon. Replaced the old/busted fuse this morning and there you go it solved the problem of not having an A/C. If no cold air coming out from the vent this is what you need. Don't go to your local A/C repair shop because there's nothing wrong with your compressor. All you have to do it is to replace the 2 small black fuses (maybe you don't need it) as well as the fuse diode ( Relay 5L3T-AA -4 Pins 12VDC 20A Automotive Oil Pump Starting Relay) . $25.09. n=Now I have a functional A/C. after spending $25.09

This WILL fit a 2009 Hyundai Sonata. Diode blew while jump starting it when the terminals got briefly crossed. None of the parts stores in the area carried it. Put the new one in, along with the blow main fuse, took it for a spin and all the Check Engine Lights went away after a short drive.

This will fit into a mini fuse holder, but it is taller and has a little ear that normal fuses don't have. These features can be trimmed off without exposing the diode, but it also removes the diode symbol.I bought this and a little fuse mini fuse holder to add into my 1985 Toyota Pickup to do the AGM alternator diode mod. Now I haven't decided if it's actually a good mod so I'm not endorsing it, but this setup does seam to work. This diode provides about .3v forward bias.I installed a newer style hairpin alternator which pumps out lower voltage than the factory so my AGMs were only around 12.15v at rest. This bumped peak charge from 14.1 to 14.4 (13.6 to 14.4 float). I'm considering running two in series to get a little higher, but I'm not sure if that's a great idea yet so I'll try this for a while.
