FIRST 3 pictures are the "original bulb" that came with the projector, but it was starting to show "time to replace" message.The second 3 pictures are this new bulb. You can see the definite increase in brightness over the current bulb.Btw, this is not a truly original replacement which would denote something directly from Sony. However, as noted, the output of this bulb is what I would expect from a new bulb - even if it's sourced from decent part suppliers that might have also help make the original.For the price, I would have hoped you would at least get a simple instruction manual and even a small phillips screwdriver like lesser priced bulbs, not going to hold this against them for more than a single star.Dropped this into my 4K Sony projector and thus far it's done a great job. Btw, wanted to address the brightness comments with visual data, thus why I took baseline pics of two areas that the projector outputs and then some pics with the new bulb to show the difference. And again, the first 3 are from a Sony Original Bulb that came with the projector vs. the next 3 was this bulb. You can be the judge on the brightness. Zero adjustments made.Lastly, will report back on longevity. This is one area I would expect for this bulb to last as long as an original for the price tag. Which should be near 6k hours as I have pretty standard brightness settings since this is in a media room, so not having to deal with ambient light.

Doesn’t appear to be as advertised. The ad states “Original blurb” but fails to be specific. I inherited a projector with a new home purchase and needed a replacement bulb. I now have to keep all lights off to even see some of the picture even though the brightness is on high.

This product did not perform as advertised. The brightness is a fraction of the original and a previous replacement LMP-H220 bulb for a Sony VPLVW 285es.

I couldn't be more disappointed. Not much to say beyond the headline...installed as needed and the picture was a fraction of the brightness of my original WORN OUT lamp. I'll review or append this review should the manufacturers make this situation right but for now...FAIL.
