Office quality at a consumer friendly price point. If you have a desk this can slide under jump on it. It’s a lot of bang for the buck.

I have bought Lorell furniture for several years, I have two bookcases, a half height storage unit and the 48" desk, all in the Essentials series and in Cherry finish. The quality is great with good staining on the real wood laminate. There is no "stick on" laminate on these units. The edges are a darker plastic though, but still aesthetically nice and tough. I found I needed a place to store papers and odds and ends on the desk (which doesn't come with any drawers) so I purchased this unit. It actually came fully assembled (be careful moving it in the box because it does weight around 110lbs and is a bit bulky but well packaged against damage. Be aware the other items I purchased in the past needed assembly of the panels as well as the hardware but was pretty straightforward. The set up consisted of unscrewing the handles, which they screw in backwards to avoid damage to the handles and putting them on the outside and then screwing in the support feet on the bottom. The desk had pre drilled and metal buttons all set for a variety of accessories, including this file cabinet. I adjusted the feet a few times, sliding it partway under the desk, until it just barely touched the underside of the desk top. The drawers come out by pushing the black plastic tabs on the outside of the rails (push either up or down on the rough side depending on which side you are releasing) and it was wonderful to see that they were all on ball bearing slides. Once these were out I slid the file cabinet under the desk and seated it in the corner. It sits all the way against the wall on the side and back. Once done you should be able to screw the four screws into the desk bottom and snug them up. If you follow these steps then it will not have to bear the weight of the cabinet but will keep it in place.I highly recommend Lorell for their products as I have never been disappointed yet with anything I have bought.
