Bought an Alternator to replacing a failing one on my vehicle, saw the cheaper price and thought I had a deal. Quickly discovered these are USED and REFURBISHED alternators, which isn't inherently a bad thing if you're willing to risk a part failing faster than new.However, my experience was that the first part I purchased had the Voltage Regulator fail after two days, causing DANGEROUS electrical surges and draining the battery overnight.The second part was a free replacement, and it failed even quicker, dying the same day of installation. After about an hour of working, it stopped producing 12 volts all of a sudden and started fluctuating between 9 and 11, causing the battery to rapidly drain.I do not recommend this seller, and would advise you find another listing that labels the part as "NEW".

This was a direct fit for my 98 Ford Ranger with the 2.5L 4 cylinder motor. First off, based on the description I thought this was a NEW Chinese alternator. I thought for the price what heck.. It has a 1yr warranty and is way cheaper than the part stores. I received a Motorcraft reman.. Im not saying it’s a good or bad thing but I would not consider it “new”. The unit I received had noisy bearings.. MUCH less noisy that the old alternator I pulled out of the truck but it spins smoothly. It seems like they deemed the bearings “good enough” to not replace them but they sound crunchy enough that I would have. This company gets points for including the alternator test print out. Time will tell if it holds up but as of now it is performing how it should. I will update in the future if anything changes.Their packaging though.. was not great. I can see why some people received damaged units. The alternator I received was wrapped in paper, put into a thin cardboard box that was not even taped shut.. Hopefully they improve that in the future.Overall, I think this alternator is an awesome value and I would buy it again.

This product did not work for its intended purpose. It is supposed to be brand new and in new working condition but after installed into my 1997 Mazda B4000 pickup truck it would not charge the battery. So I Uninstaller it and took it to a local O'Reilly Auto Parts store and had it tested. The alternator failed their test.

Was pleasantly surprised that while, in fact, was extremely unlikely I had damaged alternator shipped to me, as it is heavy and I am well aware subject to damage if dropped, my word was accepted for adjustment. I promptly received paid return postage and it was shipped back to me repaired, as the pully wheel was dented, obstructing proper functioning of serpentine belt.
