This is a great bulb! I'm new to ceramic bulbs, but I'm a fan now. I use it to heat my reptile enclosure at night during the winter, and it works well. I can use it year-round, which is super convenient for me.

The main thing to know is that it takes some time for this bulb to heat up. I guess I was expecting it to be like other heat lamp bulbs that I've seen that heat almost immediately. I was sure this wasn't working when I plugged it in and it just didn't seem to do anything for several minutes. But it does indeed heat up and the ceramic bulb also means that once it heats up, the heat isn't going to dissipate immediately if it is turned off.I wanted a bulb without any light, since neonatal kittens' eyes are sensitive, and this does the trick! I used this to build my own incubator in anticipation of doing more neonatal kitten rescue... and I think I'm good to go! I'll have to update once I've actually used it with neonates, but I did make sure that all the components are working and ready to go! I'll update if there are any issues, but so far, this seems like a winner!

Our female African Side Neck Turtle absolutely loves this fixture. I love the versatility to be able to use this pretty universal item with many different stands or poles (whatever they're called lol)I also really like how you can also choose the bulbs you use with it including mixing them up with red and blue lights as well.
