Perfect replacement for my vintage Speed king pedal. Super balance, offering that tone felt beaters are renowned for. Great price and respectable lifespan. Lighter than Danmar's felt beater, and therefore feels a little quicker underfoot. LUDWIG, YEAH!

Just like the original from when I was in middle school band, love this beater. I only threw on of those weights towards the top to give it a little more throw to the head.That way I could keep the same spring tension, which isn’t set to tight. It’s still lighter than the original DW beater, but it takes less work to play. No more gel leg and I don’t feel like I’m swinging the pendulum to the batter head

I chose this beater just so that I could be more like Bonham. It has replaced the stock Yamaha beater on my direct drive 9500 pedal. It is very light and it feels great coming off the batter head. I have not made any adjustments since swapping out the beater, but I am considering putting a little weight on the beater to make it feel a little more significant. As far as sound, it's the old school thump. With my 24", it rings ever so beautifully. This may not work so well for hard rock or metal. Too much bong and not enough bop.

ハードヒッターに必須のウッドビーター。最近はアルミも出て来てるんで興味は移るが、やはり持っていたいもの。バシ！っというパンチはあるが、LOWの深みはハードフェルトの方が出るかもねえ。往年から脈々と生き残っている製品なのでビータートップがカシめてあるのが玉に傷。長く使ってるとそれが緩むんよねえ。まあ、ネジを切ってしまう等修理は出来るんだが。シャフト長さもビーター形状もウエイトも俺には丁度良くてお気に入り。

Fast shipping, with beater being the genuine (Ludwig) item.Only deviation from 1960's - 70's(?) design is that shaft doesn't have 'flats' ground at (wing nut screw) locking end.This is of zero consequence.Great piece.

I got this to go with the pedal I ordered from Drummechanix. The beater gives a nice, warm, round sound, and works great with the Speed King. 35 years ago, I started out playing on a Speed King, have tried all sorts of different pedals, and now that I have one, it's like going home again. It's a Ludwig part, it's the real deal. It arrived in great shape and on time.
