Very simple fix for paper not feeding. If your printer throwing no paper error do some research on youtube to see if paper feeder cam lever is your problem. This was part that waa broke on my Brothers MFC-7860DW and was very easy to replace in like 10 minutes with help from youtube video. Working perfect now.

This replaces a commonly broken part in the Brother paper feed mechanism that engages when the tray is closed. (search "brother printer no paper error" for more info) It works perfectly and my printer is back in service.

If your brothers printer is giving you a no paper error, yet the machine has paper this is the easy fix. Check to see if the white tab is visible in the lower left where the paper tray is inserted (see picture). That white tab should be visible and not move easily when touched. Take pointed object and see if it moves easily. If so this should be the easy fix. Search videos on how to replace, very easy and only need to remove one screw.

My printer stopped printing because it could not pick up paper from the paper feed tray. I thought I was going to be buying a new printer but found the problem after some searches that the feeder cam lever was probably to blame. When I confirmed that it was, I ordered this part. It was an exact replacement and installed fairly easily. There were no instructions but determining that the old part was broken gave me enough to go on to replace it. There are several videos online that show how to replace this part. I found that a slight clockwise turn to the lever when it is 99% inserted was enough to engage the gears and get the retaining tab to insert completely without breaking it. In the future, I will not be slamming my paper tray in with much force. I'm back to printing all of son's school forms for the upcoming school year!
