STEP 1: Drill Out the Old Threads
- Use the drill supplied in the repair kit.
- Ensure the drill is perpendicular to the work surface.
- Maintain the proper drilling speed during drill bit usage.

STEP 2: Counterbore the Hole
- Use the counterboring tool supplied in the kit.
- The tool has a built-in depth-stop feature that limits the counterbore to the proper depth for the installation of the insert.

STEP 3: Tap the Insert Installation Threads
- Use the tap supplied in the kit.
- Ensure the tap is perpendicular to the work surface.

The kit came with everything you need to fix a stripped thread and it’s solidly built. Stripped the aluminum oil pan on my BMW M4 and was able to use this kit to fix it from under the car. Every step went smoothly until the rethreaded part. Wasn’t able to align it properly and when the insert went in, it wasn’t straight but at a slight angle. I was still able to use the bolt and tighten it with a crush washer. No leaks and it was nice and tight.

These are 100% better than coiled style inserts. They provide a permanent fix that is liquid and pressure tight. I'm changing all of my thread repair sets over to this style. Worth every cent.

These style thread inserts are about the best permanent thread repair there is. Once installed properly they won't come out on their own and will last through many disassembly cycles. Everything you need is in the kit and it's a pretty easy process if you know anything about machining.
