I actually ordered the wrong size. I needed one size bigger. The fine thread matched and I was able to still use it to clean up some aluminum threads. I thought it said made in Japan but I don’t think it is.

Cuts clean threads in aluminum, doesn't make much heat so I know it's sharp. For infrequent cuts in soft metals the price can't be beat.

The tap is made to fairly high standards and functions perfectly. It is made from very good tool-steel and I rate it highly. The delivery time was only 6 days, compared to the weeks-long estimate.
