So far I've only tested this in a test circuit, but it works well. When I put a steel or aluminum object against the proximity sensor the light I rigged up turned on. The sensing area seems to be the middle of the blue circle, and it senses metal a few mm away.Note that this sensor does not sense non-metallic objects such as fingers. Use a capacitive-style proximity sensor for that.I also discovered in testing that it does require the 90V as specified: When I tested it with 12V (because that's what was convenient), nothing happened.
