Ich habe ein MBP 15" (2019) mit Touch Bar. Unglücklicherweise fehlt hier mittlerweile die Aufnahme für ein Kensington Lock. Nachdem ich ein wenig gegoogelt habe, um eine Alternative zu finden, bin ich auf "Maclocks" aufmerksam geworden. Ich benötigte lediglich den "lock slot adapter", da ich noch ein Kensington-Schloss habe. Der Preis dafür war auf Amazon am günstigsten, selbst auf der Herstellerseite hätte ich mehr gezahlt.Heute ist die Sendung angekommen. Neben Adapter ist zusätzlich ein Sicherungskabel mit Zahlenschloss dabei. Damit habe ich nicht gerechnet, denn eigentlich würde das Set das Doppelte kosten. Damit war das Zubehör ein noch größeres Schnäppchen.Der Adapter lässt sich anstandslos und flexibel auf der linken oder rechten Seite des Macs anbringen (in den Ventilationsöffnungen) und wird dann mit den beiliegenden Torx-Schrauben und -Schraubendreher fixiert. Sprich Unterseite anbringen, drücken bis es klickt, umdrehen, Bildschirm öffnen, Oberteil anbringen, Display schließen, umdrehen und festschrauben. Der Adapter sitzt bombenfest und ist aus Aluminium, also läßt er sich auch nicht einfach mit einem Schraubendreher o. ä. öffnen, ohne dass der Rechner in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wird. Der Bildschirm lässt sich ebenfalls komplett schließen.Hübsch ist natürlich anders, denn ein "Knubbel" an der Seite eines ansonsten perfekt designten Apple-Computers ist nicht gerade eine Augenweide. Aber das MBP soll ja vornehmlich vor Diebstahl geschützt werden. Aus diesem Grund werde ich den Adapter nur dann anbringen, wenn ich ihn auch wirklich benötige. Das Anbringen benötigt gerade einmal eine Minute.Also absolute Kaufempfehlung meinerseits.

Please note that this product is NOT compatible with 2019 Macbook Pro 13" with touchbar. I ordered this item and have to return it. I have the 13" with just two USB-C ports, but that does not probably make a difference vs a 4-port version. The problem here is that the Edge lock adapter is shaped in such a way as to slot into a side ventilation slot on the bottom of the MacBook Pro. Rather difficult when the new design from Apple positions the ventilation slots in the rear, in the area where the screen rotates when opening and closing! So there are no side ventilation slots underneath (see photo) and so it is impossible to attach the edge piece. The item description should be updated to explain that it is not compatible with 2019 version.Just FYI, I have used another product from MacLocks successfully on a 2015 Macbook Pro (edge piece would come a bit loose over time but easy to tighten, and I was generally pleased with it). It attached with screw around the middle of side, which simply replaced an Apple screw in the bottom; the new versions from Apple did away with this screw.)

Sur un événement, il n'est pas simple de sécuriser son matériel et malheureusement, le vol est fréquent. J'ai pu travailler beaucoup plus sereinement car jamais je n'ai eu à ranger mon ordinateur toutes les 3 minutes dans un sac qui aurait pu tout aussi facilement être volé. Très bon achat !

I have a Mac Pro Retina. The adaptability of the lock adapter is amazing, because I can install in left o right side, near to the touch pad or to the touch bar, very adaptable. If you are left handed and all is made for right handed, this is amazing. I work in customer service, so it's very security and easy and fast to install and use.

The lock idea is smart and has a clean design. It does not bother to have it on and the MBP closes with no problem. If you have an hardshell case, you'll have to cut a little bit of the case wit a knife, not a big deal :)Unfortunately it has a big downside. The whole mechanism can be canceled thanks to a screwdriver. Just remove the two bottom screws and bam no more lock. This lock is probably good to scare bad people off, but if somebody is motivated to steal your MBP, they will just get it.

So far, it’s proven to be very easy to use. Initially, it was easy to install. It causes no issue with closing the laptop. At coffee shops, I just loop around center post of table. Length of cable works good and isn’t too short.

This item is exactly as described. It seems other customers received an item that was not a Maclocks, but the one I got definitely says Macklock on it.It's not super secure as anyone with the right key (a very small hex key) could unscrew it, but it's a good enough deterrent for my use.

I have the new 13" MacBook Pro with TouchBar. This lock was really easy to install and pretty easy to use. The numbers can be a little hard to move as the lock itself is not flexible, but at least it means it can't be stolen. The only bad thing is the piece you screw into your computer moves around a lot, and leaves mark. The mark can, however, be removed by rubbing it off. FYI, you don't put any holes into your computer and you don't have to unscrew any screws.

I got the ledge lock slot adapter for over a month now and the adapter itself serves the purpose. I can finally lock my new MacBook Pro w/touch screen when I'm away from my desk. I'm giving this product only 2 stars because it was a bundle: lock slot adapter AND a cable to use it with it. I got the combination cable lock but it got stuck when I was setting it up and I was never able to use it. I contacted Maclocks to return just the cable and the initial reply was fast and encouraging: they would send a new cable. I was pleased with that answer but It's been 4 weeks and I haven't heard from them and they didn't send a new cable either. They didn't clarify whether they want me to return both the slot adapter AND the faulty cable. But my problem it's the cable, not the adapter and I can't afford leaving my computer unlock, so I waited for further instructions to know what to do. They never replied to the second email. Bottom line, the service was poor and they clearly need to promote this product. Again, the adapter solves the issue of locking your new MacBook Pro but I basically had to pay $50+ for it which is ridiculous expensive. Why not letting people buy JUST the adapter for less money if you are going to bundle it with such a bad cable lock!?? Very pricy for what it was. I wish Apple would sell this accessory so consumers don't need to gamble looking for alternatives to secure our expensive computers.

I hate my 2016 MacBook Pro 15". It is a work laptop and I was forced to get it because I need to run Xcode.One of the many things I hate is the fact there is no lock hole on the laptop. As of today a fully loaded 15" MacBook Pro is $4531 after tax. So it really really annoys me there isn't a lock hole. This is a very tempting thing for someone to steal.This is the only option. If there was something better I'd buy that.I wish the screws went in from the side and not the bottom - that way the lock would cover the screws and prevent you from removing the adapter when the lock is on.I wished the adapter was Space Gray like my laptop (it's lighter, maybe silver?).I'm deducting one star because you can remove the adapter while the lock it on. It looks like all you need is a tamper-proof torx screw driver to steal the laptop. Or just buy one of these locks and you'll get the correct tool (seems like a good ROI for a thief). Luckily normal people don't have one, but if your laptop was somewhere very public a thief might have one.
