Hole seems a bit big for the bits used. I tightened the 2 set screws, drilled my hole. 1 set screws released fine, the other will not unthread. It just spins in place. Now i have to drill the set screw out to release my bit...I drilled one 3/4" hole through fairly soft masonry before this happened.

saw the negative reviews but thought this extension could at least be used for a floor scraper. Nope. The threads to secure the bit stripped and trapped my scraper, but I was still using it until the extension itself snapped off. Luckily, I was able to get my good scraper bit out of it with some drilling. Cheap metal that is dangerous. Do not use.

The male end is SDS Plus, but the socket end is not a SDS socket. Teh socket is about 1/6" larger than an SDS plus diameter. If you try to put an SDS Plus drill in it, it will not run concentric. I made a custom spacer sleeve to make it fit, but it would have been easier to just get the right SDS to SDS extension in the first place. Shop carefully!

So, it's a round socket at the end of an extension shaft with a couple set screws. Would be great of it were machined to matchup with the SDS bit's channels a little better. I tried using it to get me through 24" concrete but it wasn't happening, just kept coming loose and wobbling and I am glad I didn't loose the bit in the wall. I moved over to another section of wall that seemed to be cinderblock and I had no trouble. I guess I got my money's worth, this accomplished the task, just not the way I wanted to.

If you can just buy a longer drill bit that is by FAR a better option. If you already have the longest bit you can find, and only need like another couple inches on one or two holes, you may be in luck! You can use this as an SDS-plus bit extension. You will want to shim inside the barrel (does not fit will) with thin metal. Put the set screws in with threadlocker. Then do your very best to hold the joint between the extension and bit stable when drilling. You might just get it to work. It did for me.

It works…for a while. Then the set screws fall out or strip out. Lasted for 7 hole in my use - needed 12. Tossing it out. Someone else said get the Milwaukee extension that doesn’t use set screws. At least they could toss in a couple of extra screws??? Meh…

Exactly as advertised, works well, good build quality. This is my first time trying this brand but, I would definitely purchase more MEGABIT products in the future.
