Rod is good and easy to cut with a wire cutter. The only issue is the socket isn't very deep and may not work for some water heaters. Otherwise it is perfect!

As the threads would not connect with the threaded HWH (AO SMITH) I had to remove the new rod (ONCE) and rework the the tape on the new threads. This took very little time. As I installed the NEW anode rod, the bottom 3 segments detached and dropped into the water heater. RIDICULOUS! Do not buy this anode rod then have to wonder (as I am) if I have threatened the lifespan of my water heater. Read the other 1 STAR reviews on this item. One of them is EXACTLY my experience. The top segment, attached to the top nut, remains viable while the rest of the damn thing sits in a jumble at the bottom of the heater. My mistake. I SHOULD have read the one star reviews and found the better model made in the USA!

My water tank is only 5-year old and I have never replaced the anode rod. A maintenance plumber came in and flushed the water for me and checked all the leaking / damages and told me he would charge $360 for replacing the anode rod. I immediately search what is that and tutorial video, and found this amazing magnesium anode rod. This bundle is amazing - basically all you need. You need a 1-1/16 socket to unscrew the existing anode rod, and the Teflon tape helps to better seal the screw. The new anode rod came in in 3.5 sections with flexible metal linked in between. Very easy to insert into your water tank.Be really careful to watch tutorial videos on YouTube and make sure you flush the water out first or the compressed water tank would burst the moment you unscrew the existing anode rod.Pay $360 or spend some time learning DIY + $20 of this amazing kit is totally up to you!

I must say it’s the perfect anode rode, fit functionality in a water heater tank. I don't know how long it’s last but right now I will give it 5 stars.
