Let me be perfectly clear: this is NOT A 65 lb magnet this is a 0.65 (point 65, less the one pound) magnet. It won’t pick up a wreck or screwdriver or small rod. It won’t pick up rings or a watch. It’s the weakest magnet I’ve ever tried to use.

I've used this to pick up old nails in my corral and it works well. I just attached it to a broom handle that I had which did the trick.

We had a new roof put on the house, and other reviews on magnets had indicated hundreds of nails in the grass, drive, and pool. I bought this for its 65 lb magnet. I didn't have to pick up anythng that heavy, but it could pick up nails from an inch or so, even with some grass between. I was able to mount the magnet on my 24 foot extension pole, which was really helpful for sweeping the pool bottom. I didn't find hundreds, mostly because we had a good roofer, but I did find a few dozen nails and other debris. Well worth it.

I like this as it is a powerful magent and screws on the my paint roller handles. If you ever have dropped a bunch of nails of screws this baby will pick the up. Easily. Very nice magnet.

Slapped it on a mop handle to pick up bottle caps outside a restaurant. Cheap. Works better that the sweeper options because it’ll fit into tight spaces.

This was purchased to detect metal , screws, and nails on a flat condo roof that has been recently replaced.The magnet attaches to a broom handle easily, and I run it lightly over the pea gravel to attract metal. It picks up small pieces of cut metal, located a "spill" of 20 screws that the workers had not bothered to pick up, and long nails and screws that were not visible to me when I checked the area.A great product . This magnet has pull !!!

OMG I love this gizmo !!!! ok I had a new shingle roof put on a couple of moths ago now and I have picked up at least 300 nails !!! I like this to use on a broom handle or whatever you have to attach this to but much better than the extender handles etc. I know it is a very simple item but the first magnetic thing I had was about the size of a dime and was about 3 bucks ( I got it for dropped stuff on concrete floor in garage) anyway this has a very nice strength magnet. There is nothing like the awesome sound of "CLICK" and bam there is a nail or several stuck on it, and maybe 2 or 3 or more leaves as well. Now excitement and sorrow (Yay got another one and oh man there is still more) but always one less to puncture the awesome mower. I am so sure that this would be great in any need

I've read the previous reviews and laughed. People want a perfect product but are only willing to pay for a mediocre product. This product does exactly what it claims.For starters, the ability to attach a telescoping handle (cheap paint roller extension) was a great idea. I used this magnet head after doing some extensive outdoor home improvement projects. I had found myself wasting too much time trying to track down stray screws and nails. I don't want anyone picking up a rusty old nail or screw while walking in our yard. This tool made it really easy to gather up all the strays at the end of the day. It also found a lost drill bit and a much used countersink drill bit. I like that it wasn't on wheels so I could get it into dirt and debris to dig out the smaller stuff. If you are using this for small home projects it will work fine for you. If you need to clean up a large area such as a jobsite then invest in a bigger, more powerful bar type mounted on wheels. Bottom line is: for less than $10 you get a very handy and usable tool.
