The backing does not hold cause when I open the door the whole thing fell and the ball came off the holder. I had to put it on a non magnetic surface. Poor quality

I got this thinking I could use it as a little counter bell, but it just doesn't work like one of those. The only part that moves is the little thread holding the ball, meaning you cant fix it onto structures or even hang it. Touching the thread or ball is only way to make it tune. Besides that, it produces a very subtle "ting" and fit merely as a decorative ornament in my opinion. Also, it's really tiny, like baby-sized tiny.

Bought this bell for my mom. Bell sounds nice and can be heard throughout the house. She has aluminum doors so we glued a small (2"x 1") steel piece to the door and BAM!! Doesn't fall off - good magnet and really looks good.
