The product itself seems like a good product. Everything works. 3 issues I had were the box that it came in is not the same as all the other Makita grinders I’ve purchased. Seemed like maybe an older Makita box. Mostly white. No green colour like they are now. It came with a zip disc rather than a grinding disc. All other grinders I’ve purchased came with a grinding disc. Lastly, the guard that came with it is odd. I would argue that it is actually more dangerous to have this type of guard on than having it off all together.

Better than my 4” by far and more nimble than biggest one. Great tool

Oddly shaped. Brushes failed early. Came with 2 sets but didn't last a year

First of all, bought this brand new so it arrived without issues. I am however disappointed that in the display image gallery (3rd image) it shows a trigger lock, which is why I purchased this model however, as you can see in the image I shared there is no actual trigger lock. So, disappointed in the confusing advertising ofthis item but otherwise it’s brand new and ready to go.

Didn't like the way the guard was attached it causes mechanical issues

It comes with a cutting guard, and you can not use grinding disks with it. I bought a Makita 6” guard off amazon, and it’s all good now. Plenty of power, smooth, but no trigger lock, which is why I bought it.

The picture shows it has a lock for the trigger. I am a painter and need the lock. I was very disappointed.

Not made like they were used to. After my husband used this for a very short day at work it started burning from the inside. When it was cool we opened it and it had obviously been wired improperly. Amazon will route you to makita for a replacement and makita has the worst customer service and refuse to honor the warranty on anything. Save yourself the time, money, and safety by going with a different brand

I’m a welder and my makita grinders are by far my favorite. They are easy to change to brushes on, easy to change the trigger on, or the cord. I’ve used a lot of different grinders and these have held up the best for me.

There are a few issues I had with the design. There was no button to lock the button in the on position like there is in the picture provided. However I knew that buying it, still annoying though. And the guard was designed in a way that to change out the disks the guard had to also be taken off as well. This wouldn't of been so bad by itself but to take off the guard you had to use a screwdriver to loosen it. This led to as many do to getting annoyed enough to just take the guard off bypassing any safety measure it provided.Other than the guard not being tool free it is a very nice grinder for the price.
